That last horizontal line you were confused about on the last level was just for the platform to move from. You can see it happen in 29:04.

13:33 so the mechanism was initiated by a Thwomp that was on the left side of the area that would only be in range to activate if you stood in that top left area. It triggers a seesaw which sends a shell on the way to eventually trigger the P-switch. So the timer doesn't even start until you go onto that upper left platform. Creator probably didn't realize the Thwomp was too high up to trigger just from going below it normally.

13:48 I suspect the survival timer was triggered by something up high that you needed to scroll the screen up for. Both times you triggered the P-switch, it was after you scrolled the screen up, while all the time you spent waiting the screen was still down.

yeah it was initiated by a Thwomp above the left side of the room that was too far from the lower level to be triggered.

The prior clear time was only 3 seconds longer, so someone else discovered the cheese. Am interested in that clear check time. Feels almost intentional.

The clearcheck time is 1:08. Having played the level, based off of the length of the subarea, i would say the creator likely cleared the whole level.
