What works best is leaving the clocks alone, and adjusting the voltage curve for PBO. All core boost, negative offset of -20mv. Lower temps, higher sustained boost clocks with decreased voltage. You might be able to get the maximum of -30mv offset, but -20mv was the max for my silicon.

Damn dude it's amazing thanks! It brought my temp in Cinebench from like 88-93 to 82 and now I can even run Prime 95 at like 85 degrees while before I needed to stop the test because it went so high. And the performance is literally the same. Just hope it will really run stable in the long term, if not I guess I'll work my way down with that offset.

He tested It on air' with auto voltage, i can push my 3600 to 4.5ghz on all core 1.3v 55° with a 210W tdp water cooler. I can see 15-20 fps boost from stock on a 1440p settings with rx6900xt. On 1080p It would be much because It Is more cpu than GPU load. I suggest to do your own test with Better control. I was able to overclock an 5600 to 4.9ghz all core with a stable safe voltage and with P profile with Clock tuner ryzen. It make 15 more fps but with a increase of 15 degres so 1 fps x 1°. On workload like cinebench etc the increment Is around 12%.

Testing a bit here on Farcry New Dawn build in benchmark, low settings 720p, every bit of clock makes a massive advantage. I imagine the actual gain or difference in CPU power is massive, but actually playing a game at high or ultra 1440p makes very little difference. So running normal settings vs. overclocking to 4650-4800 could make a nice difference, but on actual gameplay, it would mean almost nothing. We need the massive CPU power increase of changing to a 5800x3D to actually notice something.

Even though it is based on 5800X3D you can implement the same strategy with 5600X using the same logic and steps, just with different values. Do not waste too much time tweaking 5600X. @FroznHood
@FroznHood 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Diego! Yes, I think that the result is good. Temps are also good. But keep in mind that in games, higher boost clock may provide better results than such all core overclock settings. All core overclock, especially above 4.6GHz, provides good performance in multithreading tasks, such as video rendering for example or applications and tasks that can utilize as many cores as you have. That is why you will get more points in Cinebench with All Core 4400 than with the stock settings. Try it and you will see. But in most games it is the opposite - 4.65-4.8GHz boost clock beats 4.4GHz all core overclock.

Why do you make a cpu benchmark test with all your video settings on high? This video is irrelevant.
@FroznHood
@FroznHood 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question! The test is absolutely accurate. With 3080 (used in this test), at this resolution/settings there is already a CPU bottleneck in all games. You can check again the GPU load in all games. So it doesn't matter if the settings are on High or Low for the test of the potential of this CPU and it doesn't make the video irrelevant whatsoever.

so basically it doesnt do shit except maybe for muh temps. temps and cpu's are a meme. I never ever paid for coolers because my CPUS ran hot. CPUS are made to withstand temperatures up to 94 degrees Celsius ( intel) anything below that doesn't affect lifespan in a meaningfull way.
@FroznHood
@FroznHood Жыл бұрын
It is not about lifespan. It is about more stable clock frequencies and lower cooling noise.
@JR-cm9sh
@JR-cm9sh Жыл бұрын
fair enough that's a legitimate reason , i just cosntantly hear people talking about how their lower temps will be super beneficial for their CPU. it barely has any impact longterm but sure it keeps noise down and i highly doubt the clock frequencies are even a thing@@FroznHood
