If you check the power consumption to perfomance ratio, I would choose 7800x3d without a doubt

I just ordered a 7700+rtx4070super for a Customer Game PC Build Seems it was a good Choice because the 7800x3d would have made it nearly impossible to stay in the Budget Gonna try to make it Boost a little higher with Curve Optimizer +100/200mhz and tweak the Ram Subtimings which should also give some extra FPS

curve optimizer increase clocks and benchmark scores like cinebench cpuz scores. but decreases gaming performance. 5-10 fps. will suggest u to just do this settings: pbo advanced pbo Limits Motherboard. expo enabled. with these settings u will get 5300mhz clocks on multicores. cpu will achieve its maximum performance.

In short 1440p resolution, go for weaker CPU. 1080p resolution go for stronger CPU

it seems the R7 7700 doen's ultilize all of the RX 7900 card at 1080p solution Spider-Man 7700: 74% < 7800X3D: 96% Starfield 7700 84% < 7800XD 93%
