Warpath customs are building my rig. Full suspension upgrade complete with skid plate and rockzillas.

Hell yeah what UTV do you have? And they seem like super cool people. I want to talk to them at the end of the year. I’m going to be building my Pro for short course and just slowly upgrading it as I need to and see what it takes to be a competitive racer. Hopefully I’ll be able to go through them for a lot of parts.

Great looking rig! Do you have any gear reduction or clutching done?
@SchmidtysOffroad Жыл бұрын
Thank you! And no gear reduction. It’s actually stock clutches as well. I thought about doing a gear reduction but I am going to take this rzr a different route at the end of the year so I’ll keep it as is. If I had to do it again though I would get the turbo r. The gearing in low is way better than the pro xp and you get the better suspension as well.

I went there with my family we have a Jeep. That place is definitely meant more for buggies not Jeeps. It was tight.

Yeah I would have to agree. I know they have been working on a lot since we have gone so I want to go back and try it again. Have you been to Kansas Rocks? They seem to have a decent amount of trails that are good for Jeeps.

@@SchmidtysOffroad My family had recently got a 2023 krx4. We are going to go back to Ray Rocks, we live 20 minutes from there. We've been to Kansas Rocks at least 4 times.

Considering all pros/cons of each, how would you compare the Pro XP to the KRX? As far as ride quality, durability, power, etc. I know the KRX is known for its durability, curious how the pro xp compares from y’alls experience riding together. For power… I know the KRX is heavier and has much less horsepower… how obvious does that feel in real life when riding?
@SchmidtysOffroad Жыл бұрын
All very good questions. You nailed it with the KRX on durability, but I haven’t had any durability issues with my Pro either. Now if we both hit a tree going the same speed at the same angle, he would fair much better. The a arms are way bigger and better built. I haven’t actually broken anything yet but I have had a turbo recall. He had a recall on the a arms that could cause them to break if the steering was fully locked and bottomed out hard. I have heard of the shocks busting out of the mounts on the KRX but all of that is easily fixed. In our riding experiences, durability hasn’t been a huge issue between the two. Getting into comfort, I would say the KRX is slightly better. The pro in actual comfort mode is like a cloud but you will bottom out hard where the KRX is like a slightly firmer cloud but you won’t bottom out as easy. I think if I had a proper spring kit on my pro, they would be very comparable. I personally like the driving experience of the pro better. I feel safer, more down in the machine where the KRX you sit very vertical and feel very tall in it which helps visibility wise but I just didn’t like that part much. Now power/weight, out of the box he’s maybe 100-200lbs heavier but now that I have a cage and all my accessories, we are pretty darn close to the same weight so that’s not a huge deal. The KRX feels very snappy, you step on the gas and it is pretty responsive but tops out quickly. The pro is pretty mild until about 30-40mph and the turbo starts to kick in. For the riding we do, I don’t think you could go wrong with either. We do a wide range of everything. I personally wanted the electronics and turbo where he wanted simplicity and durability. Power to me was a big thing but honestly the KRX isn’t as bad as people make it to be. It’s slower out of the hole than a xp1k but the top speed is about the same so if you get a clutch kit or tune in the KRX, it’s very similar power/speed wise to other non turbo machines. One thing I will say about trail riding is the KRX going slow is singing at higher RPMs especially in low, so that’s kinda annoying because you’ll have to switch to high if you’re over 10mph but it makes it nice in the technical rocks. We just don’t ride super technical stuff that often to where we need that real slow crawling capability. If I had to do it again I would stick with Polaris but go with the turbo r. It’s got a much lower low gear in it for the rocks but still has the good top end. Sorry if that was a hell of a lot bigger answer than you wanted lol, hopefully it answered your questions!
