This channel is fantastic. Out in the wild and 100% real. We all know you don’t bag the monster or even see a monster most of the time. Toughing it out and giving 100% is the definition of hunting.

Another fine film, and in my home state to boot. You tend to get what you're after in all the videos of yours I've watched so it was cool to see you have such a great attitude after not getting an elusive Montana bull.

RaffyJoaquin I accidentally removed your comment. Hit the wrong button. His question was do Remi and I normally use 300wsm and the answer is yes for the most part although last fall I used a 7mm WSM on my MOA Rifle. Both great rounds. thanks

Some of my best memories of hunting, I never even fired a shot. Just 2 weeks ago was one of those awesome memories when a young 180lb black bear was climbing up to me in my tree stand. He was only about 4 feet away from me, just sniffing. I've wanted to experience that for years and finally did. There was no aggression, he was just curious. I filmed it on my phone and will be awesome to look back on years later. It's not always about killing while out hunting. I wish people would understand that.

This is a really great video! I don't usually like most hunting videos, but this reminds me of so many of my adventures hunting in my home state of Montana. It documents a real hunt and an unknown outcome. Very nice job.

+Lars Erlandson Better to come to Texas and do a ranch hunt for Elk. Texas has private ranches larger than the entire state of RI with a much better density. You can shoot a cow or spike for $1000, or a cull buck for $2000. Includes guide service. Yes, there are canned hunts to watch out for, but they are easy to spot. Most legit ranches will try to keep the ratio at 20k acres per hunter. Much larger than most of the drawn units. No lottery, no waiting.

What kind of bullet size to use a 30/06 308 or 375
@daveobsoleteammo45474 жыл бұрын
you want a bullet weight that will give you heavy stopping power for Elk because sometimes the bullet must travel through a shoulder to get at the vitals . So a 150gr is barely enough , and only then if the distance is not over 200 yards . 180gr is better , but you need a bigger caliber than .308 if the distance is out past 200 yards . The stopping power drops off fast as range is increased , and you want to be sure you don't have to follow a wounded animal .

@williammawk17206 жыл бұрын
The 308 is plenty adequate, I would recommend using a good quality 180 gr. bullet for elk.
