The kingdom of Dál Riata is a good example of this. So no, rugby is far more Celtic than Viking, considering the fact that three Celtic nations are actually any good at the sport (Ireland, Scotland, Wales), whereas there are no Nordic nations that play it. As well, the oldest successively documented rugby club in the world was formed in Dublin, Ireland. A Celtic nation.

Alan Kennedy Actually, No. Dál Riata is the only notable example of the Scots. The entirety of "pictish culture" was not eliminated by the Scots either, this can only be said to be on the frontier of the western Highlands. The areas around Caithness were still populated by the Pictish people up to the 7th century, when the Norse "invaded" - or more accurately, settled. The Scots had far less landholdings, designated mainly to the west coast. Even still, you haven't even discussed the Celts, Britons or Anglo-saxons.

Charlotte McCann It wasn't eliminated immediately with the creation of that kingdom, but it was eventually surpassed and forgotten. There were various factors to consider then, the Northumberlandish to the south and the Viking invaders later, but in the end most within the Kingdom of Alba (that which was formed from a merger of Dál Riata and the Picts) underwent a shift towards Gaelic custom. That's pretty much undeniable. The "Scots" as the Romans knew them expanded through a merge of cultures and custom via Gaelicization.

Bioplastia Sao Luis ; same wonder here..NFL is said to be more explosive short outbursts of power and speed... And then all the breaks and tactics...All Rugby player have strong stamina...no NFL athlete could hold up 5 minutes in Rugby..and I know this as a fact...even the big props in rugby need to be moving constantly keeping up with the game and line of defense..whereas NFL is stop and go ..they only train strength and speed...and shoot roids like crazy...because no young athletes look like they are...weighing in heavier than heavyweight boxers and bigger than strongmen...realy... I did play both sports and Football was fun,cool but dead easy as a sportsman...Rugby however was tough as you are constantly giving 100% and trying to get back to normal...but then the situation does not let you...and you cannot let your mates down..and you see the fatter guys keep going on and think...what's wrong with me...I should be happy to do the extra work...btw in rugby I was 6'2" and 195pounds and in football later 6'2"and 265 pounds.

Une vidéo intéressante car elle montre 2 volets bien distincts de ses énormes capacités. On connait ses accélérations fulgurantes avec cadrage débordement et sa capacité à pénétrer la défence mais là on voit aussi très bien sa capacité à stopper netdes joueurs de 100kg lancés à pleine vitesse. Cela demande beaucoup de technique pour ne pas se faire mal et pour rester sur ses appuis. M.Chabal est une belle synthèse entre fierté du maillot, puissance, stature, technique, vitesse, rapidité, engagement, esprit du guerrier. Il ne lui manque que la world cup pour avoir fait une carrière parfaite. Un joueur d'exception.
