I think it’s just basic biology. Saitama never worked out prior to 22 and since he never trained before then his body would never be used to the workouts he’s gonna put himself through I mean 100 push-ups sit ups and squats is a large workout for just a regular office worker to start doing everyday and that’s not adding on top of that a 10 km run Saitama barely ate let alone slept during this workout he was literally killing himself. His body had two choices, break his limiter, and allow his body to access, more strength and more energy or die like I dare you to just all of a sudden start doing his work out every day without pacing yourself at all 100 push-ups, straight into 100 sit ups, straight into 100 squats and then right afterwards a 10 km run with no breaks in between it would get easier after three years for sure, but it would be near impossible if not impossible for most people to even start that work out like Saitama is the only anime character I think actually got his powers from a biological standpoint that makes sense
