S.E.V. Marchal Semaphore unit removal

in America a Semaphore is the red/amber/green lights at intersections. But I suppose there were no "red lights" in the 1930's. Otherwise Lucas did a very similar removal all the way to 1992 in the center console switches of the Jaguar XJ-6, a total pain to remove if not to figure out the how to remove those damned switches. It could be made easier but no, they have to be a p.i.t.a.
