In the North, West, South, East, we always referred to our land as Bharatvarsha and this was understood by the writers of the Constitution. The English version of the Constitution states "India that is Bharat" but the Hindi version says simply "Bharat ka Samvidhan" (Constitution of Bharat). If people can change the names of places from Calcutta to Kolkata, Bombay to Mumbai, Madras to Chennai and the state to Tamil Nadu, Mysore to Karnataka, Orissa to Odisha, Pondicherry to Puducheri without complaints from anyone then nobody should have a complaint against Bharat. Sepoys who whine have no say in the matter.

In the context of asking why ? 1. Can anyone explain why the names of the states got changed and no fuss was made ? 2. Is/was there any problem when we say/said 'Mera Bharat Mahaan' ?
