I honestly forgot I had pre-ordered the Bandai S.H. Figuarts Deadpool 2....just like I had forgotten about the first SHF Deadpool I had unopened in a toy stock. Let's take a look at the new darker red version while throwing in the brighter version in places just for giggles!

Nahhh this is supposed to be his darker suit in deadpool 2. This was never intended to be the dusty suit. Im glad they went this route cause i love the color

I think they wanted to rerelease it with guns and better paint apps but needed an excuse to make a variant that could work as a regular movie Deadpool because of how bad the last one was.

I'm glad we finally got the guns, but man... I hope Bandai doesn't make this a trend with western properties. With their Japanese licenses, they seem to have gotten *really* comfortable forcing collectors to buy figures to get accessories for another figure. It started with the main Kamen Rider of each series having their main weapon bundled with their bike or the secondary Rider (or an alternate version of *himself* in the case of Geats), but I think Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Gohan's *endless* accessories bundled with other figures is what's tipping it over the edge. Hope it's just a phase or experiment and doesn't become their go-to strategy for western stuff.

​@@fredfredburger8D I figure it's kind of a lost cause when it comes to most Japanese properties. It doesn't help that Bandai has like no competition with stuff like Kamen Rider, Dragon Ball and One Piece. But they seem to not be doing this as much with properties where they do have competition, like Marvel, DC, Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man. It happens sometimes, but most of the time it feels more justifiable. E.g., a hand for Yuji to do the pose he did with Todo is included with Todo, which makes sense since you probably wouldn't use that hand otherwise.

If you can find a Fred Savage figure you could use the cleaner version as the story teller from Once Upon a Deadpool. Also if the figure is from later in the movie shouldn't the suit have duct tape wrapped around it from when Juggernaut ripped him in half?

The eyes on the first release are labeled. Definitely helps with switching them out.

I passed on the first one because I was more than happy with the ML, but the colors on the new one looked SO good to me (and came with guns) so I couldn't pass it up and do not regret getting it now that it's in my hands. You not opening your first DP figure made me realize as well how many things I still have in box that I either lost interest in or just don't have space to display at the moment. 🤦‍♂

I literally just bought and received the upgrade kit that included all of this missing stuff from the first SHF release, which essentially makes it...the new release (Minus the collar). Also, I'm shocked you didn't touch on the super short neck peg on the first. The upgrade kit added a taller neck peg so he didn't look so compressed and scrunched down. Curious to see the DP2 neck peg.

I refused to buy that 2-pack from hasbro, out of principle . So when the darker weird “not quite gray version” came out at Walmart I preordered it and used a sharpie paint pen to make it redder. I actually like that figure more because if the time I put in, and my refusal to buy a figure I didn’t want

I think i saw that hot toys has the rights or something to the grey dusty suit from the end of the movie which is why the hot toy figure is grey but the legends and figuarts are just darker red i could be wrong though.

Much better release. Btw the first deadpool is supposed to be the first movie. Thats why this one is labeled as deadpool 2. It was just inaccurate to have the extra details on the shoulder thing. Also this is meant to be the darker suit he had in the sequel. Not the battle damaged dusty look he had at the end. So im glad they didnt go that route.

I think it’s kind of dumb how SHF is marketing it as the end of the movie suit because at the end of the movie, the suit was all ducked, taped up and damaged and the figure clearly has no damage on it. It’s still a good looking figure though I know I’m eventually going to buy it.

It’s really not supposed to be more grey, the scene shown is the only time it looks more grey, it is literally the red suit covered in soot, we remember it being more grey because x force was in the movie and we know his x force suit is Grey but this is colour is actually accurate to the movie
