S.H.Monsterarts Godzilla 1991 Shinjuku Decisive Battle Ver Figure Review

I had my doubts about this figure but I'm happy to say that I have a newfound love for Godzilla 1991. From head to toe this figure looks fantastic. Some minor paint issues on the tail but the paint apps are spot on where they need to be. A worthy figure to have in your collection.

I'm a big fan of Heisei Goji but don't have any figures of him, pretty much missed out on all of the older SH MonsterArts Heisei Gojis so it's good to see that I will finally be able to get at least one for the collection. Might not get him this year, maybe another time hopefully but he'll definitely be on the list.

The First HeiseiGoji came out in 2011 actually but the newest one to me is like a Remake and the definitive Heisei 90s Goji now.

Not at all, Godzilla 1995 Rebirth is still the definitive Godzilla Heisei of the entire Monsterarts line, accessories and incredible sculpting

Heisei Godzilla was my favorite Godzilla for most of my life and I still think hed the most iconic Godzilla, like everything about his design screams pinnacle of basic Godzilla design and most recognizable silhouette. And of all the Heisei suits 91 was always my favorite, partially cause I just loved GvKG a lot as a kid but also because I thought that suit was the perfect amount of bulky and menacing, and oddly specific detail but I always thought that the slightly bigger arc/bump on top the head was more definitive for my heisei Godzilla. Which is why until SHMA Biogoji came out, I was always kinda disappointed we got the more flat headed Heisei Godzillas. When SHMA Biogoji came out I jumped to buy that so fast because it was so similar to the 91 suit and I didnt think they'd be releasing it so soon after. But I have to say after seeing the figure in this review, its not what I expected. Its not a bad figure by any means but it feels slightly off. 91 did make Godzilla a bit thicker in certain areas like the chest and the thighs so that's accurate but I almost feel like they made the neck a little too fat. And again its a small detail but I feel like they flattened the head bump too much again, so that actually disappoints me a little, cause I was hoping theyd keep the overall silhoutte of the Biogoji headsculpt. I do love the more vibrant piercing eyes on this one though. I might still Prefer SHMA Biogoji after all this time waiting for a 91 release. But maybe in hand SHMA 91 will look better in hand

You won't have to wait any longer, Hiya Toys showed their prototype for the Hokkaido suit and it looks amazing. The best thing is that Hiya Toys are cheaper and they look great. Worth check them out.

I love the ‘94 figure. That’s the one that I have. Actually I think have the re-release, the one that comes with the beam effect. Luckily I didn’t get one with the derpy eyes. The ‘94 figures scales the best alongside the bigger Heisei figures.
