Rahul Kanwal in an exclusive conversation with India’s dynamic External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. In this chat, which is part of a special show ‘Jab We Met’, the former Indian Foreign Services officer talks about the diplomatic and military issues on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. Jaishankar terms the increased Indian military deployment on the LAC a change from the previous government’s policy of ignoring China’s aggression. He termed the relationship with China a “challenge” rather than a “diplomatic failure”.

As for the "monkey balancing" view, it must have been a western diplomat who told Rahul this. Why because they see everything black and white. "You are friend or foe". "You are with us or against us." They can never understand the Indian's multidimensional multicolored logic. And for a long time Indians were forced into this western binary logic in their thinking and world view. But now Dr. Jaishankar's ministry has institutionalized India's multifaceted FP. Let them deal with it.
