Do you have a quick 3mo review of fit/comfort after any longer trecks with loaded packs? Have you noticed any unusual wear/rub spots from the harness on your dogs? I just ordered two, a pro and light for my two Aussies after deciding nothing on the market, aside from the Saker, fit our needs and use case. With their longer hair, i'm assuming (based on previous experience) i'll still need to sleeve some buckles/connectors to keep their long hair from getting caught and ripped out. How have they been working for your pups?

Unfortunately, we weren't able to do any backpacking trips this season. Life just didn't allow it. I'm still planning to do a trip to hardcore test these, but I'm afraid I'm not much help to you right now.

ive got the pro, their smallest size in medium for my huskies. They are the right size but the straps will not stay tight. Keep coming loose and that concerns me esp for safety… especially around the chest. Ive had to re tighten mine twice now on my female and once on my male. For almost $200 im a little disgruntled
@lovedogsontheloose4 ай бұрын
I would definitely reach out to Säker about that. Have not had that issue with either of the Canyon Light harnesses that I've got, but the hardware is different on the Light (plastic vs aluminum). Either way, I'd contact support and see what they can do.

What breed are the dogs? Thanks

I am thinking of transitioning from a Help Em Up Harness (w/ front and rear handle), for a dog that we thought had DM, but doesn't... appears to be IVDD of some type. He doesn't need the rear handle so much anymore and the HEU harness otherwise is not the greatest piece of workmanship! Is this harness, with the extension, supportive enough, and the handle placed properly enough to support the weight of a 65 lb dog for general walking around and getting in/out of the car? Thank you!

@@chuckmurphy7280 You're welcome. I just thought it would be more helpful to actually SEE what I was talking about instead of me just saying, "Yeah, it will work." And, I'm sure there are others for whom the question has come up as well. Have a good night, and give your pup some love for me.
@lovedogsontheloose3 ай бұрын
@@chuckmurphy7280 someone just added a comment to the video answer I posted for you about this, and I think it's important to share. Their comment: "3rd strap isn't on the rib cage but farther over the "soft" part of the body.... therefore you shouldn't try to lift your pup as this could be dangerous (pressuring internal organs)." It may be a situation where you can simply adjust where the straps sit, but not sure. I do know that the Säker offers a "Rescue Sling" that's intended for emergency carry. It adds a belly pad to that third strap, so it may be worth looking into this.

Tif, I must have missed reason but why is Jaf muzzled at times? Thanks. I've been meaning to ask.
@lovedogsontheloose6 ай бұрын
Good question! Japhy is dog reactive and selective with strangers. It's for his and others' safety. You can read more about our experience with muzzles here (we finally found one that fits and functions properly): lovedogs.substack.com/p/good-dogs-wear-muzzles. The Love Dogs Adventure Blog is always a good place to read more nuanced writing about my relationship and training journey with my dogs.
