Brilliant! Excellent sruti and laya alignment. Perfect execution across all transitions. The bold and successful experiment reveals the underlying discipline of practice! Lovely voice and great stage presence. The accompanists have played well together with the singer - great teamwork!

Yes, the violinist has acquitted himself well. To meet the well practised repertory of the vocalist, on the spot is much more tough, hence commendable-Chellapilla Prabhakar Rao

I bet to differ from Arthi Iyer and Mr Vydianathan. Full throated singing even if its loud is my preference. But they have a valid point on the impact on voice in the long run. But Vid Mahathi has over years got more and more accomplished in concert performance and shedding any influence of light music. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Especially enjoyed the sancharams ion Raaga alaapanai delivered with power and strength in voice.

I have the volume setting on my laptop and on youtube at very low but your singing still sounds loud. Kindly learn to modulate your voice in the higher octaves. It is really bordering on shouting. The voice also sounds like it is strained. Lesser shouting will definitely help heal that voice. Also, the taanam sounded like raga alapana. Alapana phrases belong in alapana, not in taanam. Sub-standard taanam and could have definitely taken more time to elaborate taanam. I understand that it is a challenge to keep shifting from one raga to another and I really commend that effort, but it shouldnt be done too often. It gets tiring after a point of time, without both ragams getting their due to shine. The violinist has done an amazing job. He will definitely scale greater heights. Kudos to him and the rest of the team !

I don't know who died to make you the authority on these matters. If you're that good, you should be performing - I'm pretty sure no one's heard of you, let alone heard you. So you took a class and you sang somewhere - that makes you a critic, even an amateur one? You think she would have got to where she is because she didn't know how to "modulate (her) voice?" Who the hell died to make you the authority on modulation or on tanam? Amateur critic, my ass. She's not my favorite artist, but I respect her for what she can do with the art. How about you show a little respect for someone who's managed to do what she has?

There are other chairs in other concert halls. Also, our music is made great not because of the audience but because it is intrinsically so. The value of the music is not a market outcome: because of downward sloping demand and an upward sloping supply - that dubious honor is for the poor artist. So, I come back to my point - there are other chairs in other concert halls.
