I do not add cinnamon and cloves.. Instead I add black pepper which gives great taste to the sambar powder and makes the other recipes like palya and all tasty..

Yes ma'am. black pepper i dont use for this sambar powder. if you like , definetely it can be added according to your taste. my suggestion is for this sambar powder around 2-3 tbsp black pepper can be added For family of 2, if i take it as 1/2 liter of sambar, you can add upto 1 tbsp of sambar powder, again it varies according to taste. The sambar powder i have shown is medium spice. so 1/2 tbsp of powder for 1/2 liter of sambar is medium spice. Thanks

U make mistakes when you add garam masala ..it's not give sambar taste
