The Kalcine Film Enterprise and Visions of Punjab has presented a series of Interviews with many personalities. One of them was with S. Mohinder, Producer, Music Director, and Composer, and was released last year. Shri S. Mohinder composed music for many Hindi films, he also tried his hand at Punjabi films. “Guzra Hua Zamana, Aata Nahi Dobara (Time that is lost, doesn’t come back)”, the popular soulful melody from the 1956-movie Shirin Farhad featuring Madhubala was composed by the noted music director Sardar Mohinder Singh Sarna, better known to the world of Indian music as S Mohinder. He gave music to about 50 films including Shrimati ji (1952), Paapi (1953), Naata (1955) and Picnic (1966). Coming from a strong classical music background, he understood the demands that cinema made and delivered catchy light music with strong aesthetics. Mohinder made arresting songs with a simple melody line and meaningful lyrics.
S. Mohinder apart from being a music director was a good singer too, and we have recorded some of his renditions some of which we have already released on our KZbin channel hope the viewers are enjoying.
It is sad that S.Mohinder is not with us anymore. He passed away in 2020 in the USA. He has left many memorable compositions for us to enjoy. RIP S.Mohinder. We present one of his best composition “Guzra Hua Zamaana”.
