Here's the thing, Eurovision has always being political. Konstrakta, Hatari, Manizha, Koza Mostra, even Trenuletul. There is this kind of double perception just because the artist is Palestinian. But I genuinely think Bashar Murad's song is a lowkey banger and should be sent to Eurovision. And he knows how to perform, so that's a plus

well I'll be voting for Bashar on saturday for sure love the song and him, fyi the song is now out in english on a video sooooo goooooood

Totally agree with Bashar's song. Was my nr 3 but after seeing the act I'm obsessed. Clear winner for me.

My favorite to win is Bashar. Heard all the songs in Icelandic first before listening to the English versions and got hooked with that bass beat. Personally prefer his English version so I'm excited to see it in the final.

Sigga is my fave. Love how it sounds like she’s cheering for her girl Tiffany with lots of “Go Tiffany”s.

I am shocked Anita being so low. Thought she would easily be your #1 ... I personally hope she wins, and keep the song in icelandic. I love the english version, but it feel more generic in english ;0

Dire stuff, you should have started with 4/10 and worked downwards. Bookies go 7/1 Iceland to win the Eurovision, well that really is a joke.

I really dont see anyone but Bashar winning this tbh which is fine. The song is decent, and im sure it will give Iceland their best chance at doing well in May. I do prefer the song in English tho so I hope he sings it in English.

I haven't heard it in English yet!!!! I agree with your assessment of Bashar and the best choice for Iceland with Eurovision in mind ❤️

Its much better in English imo. He did a great job of learning Icelandic to be able to sing it in the semi though so I have mad respect for him. @ShanesEurovisionReview

I think Bashar has the best package. Country can be a very “hit or miss” genre for me, I really disliked “Hope” for Estonia 2022, but my main problem there is that it sounded very generic. Bashar clearly brings his own flavor, his own perspective as an artist, there’s a bit more darkness/edge, and you can’t deny the catchiness of that “Mmm mmm” part of the chorus. I also like the visuals, his look is very striking when contrasted against all the “silver and sequins” of the other Icelandic entries. If there was another strong winner who he would “deny”, I would understand the mixed feelings, but he’s really presenting a strong, unique package, whereas a lot of the others feel a bit “generic Eurovision.” As for language, I prefer the English version, but mad respect for learning so much Icelandic JUST to perform the song!

Honestly? I don't want to be rude, but I'm not impressed by any of the songs of Iceland this year 🙈. Overdose of same sounding bops and 90's dancemusic 😂. And between those, maybe the one I liked best was Blankiflúr. But having to choose a winner? I suppose that Bashar is the one that outstands the most because of the style of the song eventhough I'm not wowed. By the way, the title of the song means "Wild West" so therefore the outfit 😉. Also have to say, the show everyone was giving was indeed fun and entertaining, good job on that Iceland!

"Someday" beat "Det' Det" in the semi at Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. Two good songs. I like "Det' Det" more in the studio version than "Someday", but of course Björk had the stronger voice. (I would love to find a version of "Det' Det" with better audio than the one that's been on KZbin for ages.)

A LOT of eurodance from the 90s and 00s here. Don't get me wrong, Sigga and Anita are good but Bashar is the runaway here for me. The dancers are VERY memorable and the pulsating bassline is SO catchy! He got the staging PERFECT. Also, I think too many people are hating on Bashar because of the Palestinian political issue, unaware that he's actually Israeli! He went to the same school as Netta! I think also he tries not to comment in support of one side regarding the war. He wants peace across the world. The meaning of his song explains that, it's about breaking down borders as is Bashar himself who isn't actually Icelandic either but still slayed that Icelandic language!
@frajoladellagato7 ай бұрын
Ehh don’t call him Israeli… he may have gone to school there but he definitely identifies as Palestinian and has been quite outspoken about the events there. I don’t think your comment is a fair characterization of what he stands for.
@frajoladellagato7 ай бұрын
That being said, I do agree his song is the best choice for Iceland and hope he goes to Malmö. 👍🏻

After checking out both Semi performances, my clear favourite and the only one that was close to Green Tier in this whole selection was Ceasetone - Ró which was eliminated. 4/5 from my Top 10 have in fact been eliminated🤣 So i’m left with just Anita here to somewhat support as she is my second🤷♂️ From these 5 Finalists: 1. Anita 2. Sigga 3. Hera 4. Bashar 5. Vaeb I’m sorry Bashar’s song in my opinion is rather mid and absolutely non competitive for Eurovision *in normal circumstances* like all of the songs that are in this Final being honest… Nah Shane you didn’t just compare it to Rayden as well💀

It's a song contest!!!!! So PLEASE no **** politics! Ideally the best song representing each country progresses to Malmö 24 and best overall entry wins in the finals. Occasionally this happens but more and more politics also enters the competition and it sadly affects the end result. Oh well....still can't wait to hear all songs in this wonderful competition.

I'm obsessed with the beat of Bashar's song, it's really catchy. And I really like the staging. Same as you, I hoped the song was good because all of the talking around him, so I'm relieved too. The song is so good, so any other reasons can stand aside, because the song itself is great. The level of Island this year is quite good in general, I'm glad.
