Thanks for this video! I got some great memories of this mountain; having hiked to the summit from Ebenalp and back again over Lisengrat to Wasserauen. The alpine crows at Säntis are very much used to people and will sit on you when offered a treat. I had a flock of them surrounding me as I did so only to later see the “please don’t feed the birds” sign.

The scenery just doesn't quit. The really deep valleys and the beautiful mountainsides. I knew they were collecting data because of the equipment; I wouldn't want to be out there in a windstorm - but watching the whole earth in view 'sway' would be great. I wonder how loud the howling a windstorm would be - with no buffers? No, I'm not asking for that video - my mind just wondered - with all that open area below. Thank you.

While the Säntis is one of the most impressive of the pre-alpine peaks, it lacks height and glaciers compared to more epic peaks of the High Alps, like the Bernina, the Bernese Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau, the Finsteraarhorn, or probably the most deserving ones for the label "most epic": Monte Rosa, Matterhorn, Weisshorn, Grand Combin.

Flying Dutshman: why didn't you HIKE up the front of the mountain all the way to the top!? THAT would've been a video to see. It's a spectacular hike and an unforgettable experience.

Nog nooit geweest, zelfs niet in de buurt ervan. Ik moet toegeven, erg mooi landschap. Wel jammer dat de moderne gebouwen, wat mij betreft, niet in het landschap passen. Ik hou meer van de wat meer traditionele bouwwijzen. Je moet toch eens het Lötschental bezoeken. Dat was toen, ruim twintig jaar geleden, voor mij het mooiste dal van Zwitserland.

Bedankt , was voor mij ook eerste keer wist niet dat het er zo boven uit zag ! Wel dat het erg mooi was van uit seealpsee heb daar ooit een hike gedaan maar niet afgemaakt ivm hagel ( Alpstein ) moet nog een keer terug ! Ik sla de locatie op Lötschental denk dat ik volgendjaar weer naar Zermatt in die richting ( net even wat fotos bekeken ziet er wel mooi uit die valley beetje oud zermatt die huisjes ! )

@@TheFlyingDutchMan8K je kunt met de auto tot halverwege het dal, vandaar is het lopen. Wij konden toen tot helemaal bij de gletsjer lopen maar ik verwacht dat die of verdwenen is of veel hoger zal eindigen.
