Seems fine enough to me if you have no family, having some buddies over, 2-3 friends during the weekends, do your job during weekdays. Although you could probably better off just paying a mortgage for a house instead of financing a truck which costs at least 200.000 dollars.
@dimaflorida98895 жыл бұрын
Philipp H. I mean yeah it all depends on individual circumstances no doubt. It’s about wisdom and long term economical profits and purpose. I can definitely see an independent business owner/operator investing in such a set up. And not to mention that many trucking companies allow the driver’s spouses (significant others) to accompany them during their travels. Having a happy spouse treated like a queen on your treks makes for a happy truck driver nonetheless...it’s my overall take on the topic.

Everyone is wondering how much this truck is and what the mileage is . Price is $ 286,680 PLUS TAX . Mileage with full trailer 5.3 MPG . This truck is for special high end LONG Distance travel. This truck is for about 10% of long Distance truckers . Insurance is 2.5 times what a normal truck would be. Maximum length of trailer 41 ft .

You can make a great living if your ready to be away from family and friends for long stretches of time. People bitch and moan about not making any money they are the lazy want everything givin to them types. I personally work for a insulation distributor and am out on overnights a couple nights a week and my company puts me in a hotel so i am lucky in that respect. There are great jobs working local home evey night jobs also i started druving for Old Dominion freight and went through their in house cdl program and started as a zero miles driver doing pickup and delivery making 65,000 first year when i moved to linehaul i was making 85,000 + a year. It was great. My wife took a new job as a head nurse so we moved towns and i went to work for the place I'm at now cause i was tired of the night life of doing line haul. But im making 26$ hour which isnt the best but its better than most and get all the overtime i want get new truck every 2 years they let me spec out the truck. They treat me great i do my job and we're all happy. So just look around for the right company if it seems to good to be true get it in writing don't believe all the make 70 a year your first year bullshit from the big companies.

I applied for all sorts of jobs but I must say that I was not welcomed with open arms. I do not know if it is my small stature or being more girly but I was mocked and laughed at in most of my interviews. I had one job but quit not long after. I was given a truck that sat in the company's lot for 6 months. It had a sticky brake pedal, the retarder did not hold, 2 audible air leaks. I called their unit out of order and quit prior to driving their load over mountain passes. They were not happy, I was relieved. I put trucking on hold thereafter. I am now back in university. Perhaps this year, I might return to local city driving part-time. I will see how much of that experience impacted me. There are only 3% of female truck drivers in Canada. We are still a huge minority. I love your trucks, they are beautiful. Keep trucking, it will always have a place in my heart, that's for sure. xoxoxo

Whoopy Doo. Is this a working truck or something for a pimp to run around? I am definitely not getting wood here. I myself have an actual “working truck”. That means a truck which is extremely powerful and useful for moving 75 tons up 9% grades. Personally I have found out that Western Star has a poor cab.. what can you expect from Daimler who also makes Freightliners? It’s got an 82” bunk. Nice. I didn’t buy it to use the bunk or run a punk ass Pacar pretend automatic. I bought it for the Allison automatic.. That’s right, the one they put in 70 ton M1 Abrams tanks which can get air over sand dunes at 70 mph. Kenworth Cabs are absolutely the best and will last forever with maintenance. Your Beautiful rig is great for a bedbugger. Not to useful for actual work. OMO.

How do truckers feel about custom-/extended-sleepers like this? Excessive, or much needed? I'm thinking of getting my CDL. If I do, I'd refuse to do long-haul without a truck like this. Honestly, don't know how these trucks arent more commonplace

Hey Corey; I'm pretty sure that's the best offer he's had today! And, with that many weekly payments, you'll have it paid off by the time you're 87 years old, assuming you're 21 today. Love your sense of humor, man!

Corey Butler don't laugh he might take you up on that, the first owner probably found out how useless that truck is In the real world of trucking and figured out how much money by he wasted buying that thing, too heavy, too much fuel consumption, and frankly the interior is not that attractive to me, seems a lot smaller inside then from looking from the outside, I've seen better well configured 96, and 102 inch sleepers. good luck unloading that thing Steve...
