He's always with you, you just have to admit that you are a sinner and ask him to forgive you. This is a very good point! All I will say to this is that we have to grow as Christians... we cannot stop our growth to make sure that we do not push another believer away. At the same time, a newer believer should focus on their walk with God and not someone else's walk or they will be easily deterred. God is moving S.O. to higher places so He has to be obedient.

I have some dudes who I used to nominally 'Christian' alongside, God brought me to conviction of sin but they've gone further away and probs wouldn't care for nominally associating with Christ.
