It’s honestly not terribly hard. It has the same fingerings as euphonium, the only thing that’s difficult about it is the breath support. The amount of air needed for the instrument to sound clear is insane. I myself have gotten light headed during rehearsals, and that was still after playing for 3 years.

Your video seems flipped left-right on this and New World, but not Tchai. IV. It's interesting you breathe between each note on the pulsed phartes (I played with Augusta symphony on principal bass bone for about six seasons, have played much of this lit). I'm thinking you are breathing that way to set up for each attack to be identical. I never would have thought of doing that in my day, aka The Land Before Time. Good sound! Remember, as bass bone, it is always our job to make the tenors sound a little tinny, and you do it well, lol.

You and the tuba are just a smidge too short on the opening statement, y’all increase length well after the horns take over, maybe you intuitively noticed that they had more sustain. It’s a wonderful sound but it just doesn’t fit the piece or composer quite right.
@TubaTones Жыл бұрын
Maybe the conductor told them to not sustain until later. The sound is not great anyway because it’s from an iPhone, you can clearly hear that the strings and brass are not in sync, but it could well be that that’s just the iPhone mic not coping with the volume.
@BBZ9000 Жыл бұрын
@@TubaTones I agree with you on that. iPhones are bad at volume due to their built In equalizer.
@Aduysvmncmkouyf Жыл бұрын
Consider the fact that the brass and strings could literally be in sync
@jessebrook1688 Жыл бұрын
The tuba and bass trombone are at the back of the orchestra, which means that they need to anticipate the notes very slightly to keep in time with the instruments at the front of the orchestra.
