Got to see the original Hamish many years ago. Was sad when he passed away last year. He was the cutest fluff of orange hair I have ever seen.

Love the hairy coos, love the Kelpies, and my engineer husband enjoyed revisiting the Falkirk wheel. We had been there a few years ago on a Princess excursion. Lovely but wet part of the world. Thank you!

Jay, I give you a lot a credit for driving in a foreign country let alone one that drives on the opposite side of the road. I don't think I would have the nerve to ever do that.

That book Dee is so good. I loved it. I love those highland cows. My oldest daughter got married in a beautiful barn on a farm in PA and they had a herd of hairy coos. They were so adorable and big.

welcome to UK driving! As an instructor (ex cop) once told me, the driver seat is always to the middle of the road *except left hand drive vehicles* and if the other cars are coming towards you, then you are doing something wrong. Speed limits are set by the type of road unless otherwise indicated. roads are generally 30mph especially if they have streetlights, single carriageways are 60mph max. Dual & Motorways are 70mph. Motorway would be the equivalent of an Interstate in USA. Both "A" and "B" roads can be a carriageway depending on usage. "A" roads would be akin to the US Highway roads - gets you places, "B" roads would be more the local routes. A Single Carriageway has no reservation, dual carriageways have a strip up the middle dividing the road for safety. And all roads lead to London, thanks to the Roman times.

I traveled around Scotland in early August. Drove a rental car, experienced the challenging multiple exit roundabouts and had my worst driving experience in Stirling trying to get to the castle. It was crazytrain there. We opted to get out of there asap. We saw the most Highland Coos on the Isle of Mull. Attended the Military Tattoo, which will be one of the highlights of my life. You two are a favorite channel for me. You make me want to go go go. Heading to NYC next week to get on Princess to cruise North.

Dee, I can't believe you are just now getting around to Where the Crawdads Sing. I watched the movie on a plane, because we have to fly everywhere being land locked in the middle of the country. It's so, so good. I bet the book is better.

I read the book and then I've just watched the movie. They did a great job sticking close to the book for the movie. But I generally always prefer the book haha.

I walked up to Stirling Castle after parking in the “downtown” area. I went into the entry area and looked around, but didn’t actually enter the castle proper. I would’ve loved to have done the Wallace Monument, but it wasn’t within walking distance in a timely manner.

The Falkirk Wheel was to be the highlight of our British Isles cruise and we got CANX on the excursion inmid June. So disappointing. The substitute excursion was not worth the money.😢. Going to try again in a few years 😊

I'm guessing you don't have to get a "European" drivers license anymore. My father in love had to way back when he took his mother in law, grandma and her other daughter to go to Ireland/Scotland. Want to say 1986 or 87.

I drove a stick shift on the left side of the road in Grand Cayman years ago. I did OK until I turned into a driveway and forgot and went into the right lane instead of the left. 🥹
