I’m glad that this fixes the cracking problem!!!!!

It helps keep the rider cooler as well. The Y-pipe get excessively hot on the left side of the motorcycle with the original exhaust.

Just got these with the 4" Slash Cuts for my 98 RK I just went full potato on. Hammer Performance reworked the heads with beehives and his CNC work. Reaper 543 cam and otner upgrades. Should wake the old girl up a bit.

Hi Clay, I had the S & S power duals installed on my 13 ultra after replacing both heads, the rear head froze an exhaust valve. It looked like the heads got hot. I have the Arlen Ness Big sucker air cleaner running a K & N filter on an otherwise stock 103 engine. I was assured the bike was ready and traveled the 300 miles to pick it up and ride it home to find they "forgot" to install the S & S head pipes. This was done on a "quick" job to let me get on the road home. They did a "stage one " recalibration on my bike and used my old Catalytic head pipes before the new head pipes (without the catalytic converter). I am wondering if this recalibration should have been done AFTER the pipes was installed and if I should do it now that I have 400 miles on my bike? Now I have the Arlen Ness Big Sucker air breather, the S & S power duals, with Super Trapp mufflers, all of this was remapped before the new head pipes, is it safe to assume the Stage 1 map is sufficient? I cannot dyno it as I am running a 59" California Side Car Daytona trike. Do you know where I can get it dyno"d here in Louisiana or the closest shop that would deal with Harly's? Thanks for your reply, Ray.

I've noticed the new style head pipe attaches under the frame. I would think this would cause ground clearance problems? Especially on unavoidable speed bumps or end of driveway rain runoff gutters?

I also have a question about ground clearance

great review,but what about the left exhaust does it also need a dual pipe-header....
@dissidentcustoms75822 жыл бұрын
The header from the front cylinder turns under the transmission and out the left side, and the rear cylinder's header stays on the right side. I hope this helps.

About to throw these on my 2005 Electra glide and got the replacement rings that you suggested plus the trans side cover gasket for that part of the swap. I was looking at the 4 bolt bracket on mine and it doesn't look like I'd have to remove the cover to get the old one off. Am I not seeing something?! Thanks
@dissidentcustoms75823 жыл бұрын
The Electra in the video is a 1995 so it might be slightly different on a TC88 than on an Evo. We had to remove that particular cover because the clutch cable blocked us from getting to the farthest forward mounting bolt. If you are able to do it without dumping your trans fluid thats great! I hope this helps!

Hey Gents, I am thinking of replacing my Vance and Hines power duals with the S&S Power tune duals. Are the S&S a 2 into 1 into 2? I love the way my bike is running now I just keep scraping the low hanging X design and hate the way it blocks the clutch cover! Had to pull the exhaust to change the clutch fluid... (wtf) I had ful sac headers as well but they were crap and got holes in them after 2 years and the company even though they knew the metal they used was crap they would not stand behind their product! Looking to match the performance I have now. I also have the Power Vision and target tune so should be ok with the tune... Thanks and I appreciate ya!

Hey, TimmyZ! The S&S headers we used for this video are 2 into 2, completely separated and never combine. I definitely understand how annoying it is to have to remove your exhaust just for a simple service. Thanks for watching and for the support, we greatly appreciate it! I hope this helps.

I got this set for my 06RK....it only came with one band clamp. I thought this kinda sucked. I'm planning my install around July 4th and trying to make sure I have everything for my DIY ......are these 1.75 opening at the slip on , left side? thanks .
@dissidentcustoms75822 жыл бұрын
Yes, they have 1.75" openings for the slip-ons.

What did you use to close up the clamp underneath the transmission and underneath the oil pan? Those brackets are pretty stout steel

I used channel locks

Did you have any issue with the crossover clamp hitting the frame when positioned straight up and down as mentioned in the instructions? If I reposition it sideways the heat shield will not fit on correctly. Thank you.
@dissidentcustoms75822 жыл бұрын
We did not have any issues on the 95' we used in the video. What year is your motorcycle?

So, what about performance?
@dissidentcustoms75822 жыл бұрын
Minimal performance will be noticed if only just the exhaust. It needs to be paired with a performance air cleaner upgrade and a tune. A tuner for fuel injected or re-jetting and tuning for a carburetor. Even then it's only what is considered a Stage 1, so not much...
