15:00 most of these buildings ARE prefabs IRL. The soviet Union used copy+past a lot. there is a place literally called "Pripyat 2" on the map. The various kindergartens and aprtments all have the same layout. The city blocks were assembled from planned out building blocks. they were the homes for the local workers. they were what every american gated community aspires to be.

Im actually amazed that all these areas are still in the game.. thought the devs would of just had a version of the game to test things in not leave it all there in the current released version and hide it behind snipers and heavy radiation

That's just never how it works out. =D You misplace your keys in your own home. Imagine having a huge world like this to misplace all sorts of things in between a whole team of people, and maybe even some third party contractors! Inevitably, you will end up with dev stuff landing in the published build, one way or the other. =D But since your entire team is working on the same project at the same time, having their work diverge too much from the release candidate leads to bigger merges. Which are usually avoided as much as possible, since they are huge pains in the rear to deal with compared to regularly merging your own work into the same base branch for everyone to have going forward. So there's the incentive to work on the same branch together, which is indeed the dev branch. The release build is nothing more than an older "checkpoint" on the dev branch, which is deemed "stable" enough to release. While some polishing may go into these checkpoints retroactively, at which point you're forking them off into their own release branch, it's also very time intensive to put too much additional work in just to remove harmless stuff from it, over and over with each release patch you want to put out. Since, every new release build having its own forked out branch of another stable-enough looking checkpoint of your latest dev branch, also means they have all the dev objects back in them once again. So most of it usually just stays in. Plus, imagine how much of headache it would be to clean away all the convenient, out of bounds hidden dev objects just at 1.0 release even, only to then get to work on v1.1, without them readily available for copy-paste anymore. =) Well, hope that wasn't TMI.

5:15 originally there was supposed to be a cut region in this place: "Korogod forest". In this region there was a doctor's house instead of the red forest

I’d love to see them polish and add all of this in a future DLC
@Sh4dow68213 күн бұрын
its weird how the game actually has alot more outskirt area.. It made me wonder does this allow room for DLCs or expansion in the future where these areas become accesible.. obviously its not as we see it now as the devs would have finished these areas or done something with it.

I bet there will be DLCs for Stalker2, there is so much unused space on this huge map!
@BlackSun40413 күн бұрын
It's actually not all that uncommon. While you do want to avoid putting in work for nothing, maps usually are square. If your world is meant to feel immersive, it isn't obviously square to the player. While Cyberpunk flattens the out of bounds area, I believe for S2, they might have used enough procedural terrain generation to have this result be not too much additional work, which can greatly help if they weren't quite sure where they wanted the edge of the playable area to be. Giving them the ability to visually pick and choose where to draw the lines, and making it easier to build stuff in out-of-the-way, yet still proper looking landscapes, to move the almost finished buildings into the playable area at a later point (which can also accidentally leave the odd, straggler object behind when selecting all and moving). That, and for some of these areas themselves, they might actually have future plans!

2 paid dlcs and at least 1 free, is what the devs said. So this all checks out.

I was able to check this out a few weeks ago. In the Generators area, there are containers with randomly generated items and some big red button or lever you can activate (to no effect).

Didn't want to spoiler myself too much so stopped at 19. But, did you check if the Easter Egg in Limansk made a comeback? In the original games, there was a house right on the road you were traveling, which had a hidden door type deal going on, with a soviet SciFi show interior reference. Really cool.
@RoyHess66613 күн бұрын
No actually not, cant actually remember if I know about this and forgot, or never knew 😀 But I would say it is not there in Stalker 2, judging by how low detailed Limansk is

Cant share your opinion, installing MODs on PC platform is very easy, simply drop the files into the ~mods folder and you're done. Dunno about consoles, but I dont play console, I mean really, aiming at fast moving enemies using a controller and no aim assist?
