Время в ТЧ идёт в 10 раз быстрее, чем в реальной жизни. То есть за 6 минут на видео в игре проходит час времени. А ещё погода четко заскриптована и повторяется каждые сутки, то есть на обычных локациях ровно в полночь начинается дождь, в 00:30 начинается гроза. В 1:30 ночи гроза заканчивается. В 2 ночи заканчивается дождь, в 4 утра рассвет и т.д. Например 29:06 на видео это ровно полночь игрового времени, т.к. начинается дождь, 32:06 это ровно 00:30 ночи, т.к. началась гроза. По погоде очень легко определить внутриигровое время.

It's been 15 years now. It wasn't the scaryness, it was the loneliness. And the A-Life. And the bar.

It's a bit repetitive and weirdly mixed here and there. Some sound effects are way too out of place. The cat can be annoying after a while and the sound is cut badly. Still, adds a ton to the atmosphere. Not that scary but. If I would walk at the cordon at night alone hearing those sounds... It would give me anxiety.

The fact is that most of us were kids back then and didn't really understand how games work from the technical side. Hell, I was 10 years old back in 2007. So back then our imagination ran wild + we didn't know from the start if the ambient sounds are just sounds, or if there is really some creature in the area which makes them.

Well, I hope that Ukrainian devs from "GSC Game World" will re-build their "X-Ray" engine. I thought their second game will be based on X-Ray, but they decided to go "UE" instead

Better option imo. Better to recruit devs since they will be more familiar with ue probably, and less time expensive
