There's already a very good adventure video game based on a The case of CDW. I think it is called Necronomicon and was released in 1997. It follows original story very closely and has a wonderful lovecraftian atmosphere.

If you can tell me the secret periodic element lovecraft left clues for, I guarantee we will get along. He drills it until its so obvious. Yet no one is talking about the hidden layers! The revverences and breadcrumbs he leaves in this book absolutely everywhere! Why is no one talking about the underlying codes and trails this book will lead you on if you let it. I'm guessing everyone else just read the book and didn't have any, "well this doesn't look right...why would he write it like that?" kind of feelings.
