The area occupied by the village is 103.4 hectares, in the village there is a secondary school No. 59 kindergarten № 61, "Ternovskiy center of culture and leisure", there is a liaison office. In Ternovka there is a memorial on the brotherly cemetery of Soviet soldiers.
Ternovka is located in the north-east of the city council territory, at the border with the Bakhchsarai district, in the valley of the river Aitodorka, the right tributary of the Black, in the mountains of the Inner Ridge, bounded by the mountains El Burun and Shuldan from the north and Zybuk-Tepe - from the south, the height of the village center above sea level of 185 m.
In 1944, after the liberation of the Crimea from the Nazis, according to GKO Resolution No. 5859 of May 11, 1944, on May 18 Crimean Tatars were deported to Central Asia. On August 12, 1944, Decree No. GKO-6372c "On the resettlement of collective farmers to the Crimean districts" was adopted, according to which 6000 collective farmers were planned to move to the region from the Voronezh region of the RSFSR and in September 1944, 8470 people arrived in the region (since 1950 the area of steel come collective farmers from the Sumy region of the USSR). Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR of August 21, 1945 Old Shula were renamed Ternovka and Staro-Shulsky Village Soviet - in Ternovsky. Since June 25, 1946, Ternovka was part of the Crimean Region of the RSFSR. As of January 1, 1953 in the village there were 118 farms of collective farmers (439 people) and 5 farms of workers and employees (25 people). In 1954 there were 583 residents in Ternovka. April 26, 1954 Sevastopol, as part of the Crimean region, was transferred from the RSFSR to the Ukrainian SSR. By Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR of April 20, 1957, Ternovka was transferred to the Kuibyshev District of the Crimean Region.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR "On the Enlargement of Rural Areas of the Crimean Region," on December 30, 1962, the Kuibyshev District was abolished and the village was transferred to the Bakhchsarai District. According to the decree of the Supreme Council of Ukraine of October 11, 1991, No. 1651, the Ternovo Village Council was transferred to the Balaklava District Council of the city of Sevastopol. Since March 21, 2014 - in the city of federal significance Sevastopol of Russia.
