S&W 686-1 custom manual/handmade work by HovinCustoms

My 686-1 with some DE dna from my subconscious.
All projects below is on my album on FB. All projects by writer.
1. Grip is made out of pre ban brazilian rosewood, sculpted and heat stippled, semi integral to hide frame profile front and back. manually machined.
2. Entire trigger mechanism inside is tig welded, repaired and tuned back to original.
3. Hammer was bobbed, made dovetailed piece of Zircuti in press fitted.
4. Dovetail is tig welded with same material as frame , no piece attached, fully welded from start to finish then shaped.
5. Barrel weight/rail manually machined and locked in place with tapered bolt that can be quickly taken off with a release mechanism in front. I plan to make a dedicated flashlight/laser sometime in the future.
6. Trigger itself originally is slippery so milled a 2mm endmill pattern for better friction.
7. Mechanism inside polished in right places, also milled out meat of rebound block and inserted ceramic shims for less friction, with this you don’t need to mess with tuning springs. All tho I plan to upgrade and make myself a new mainspring system like a shocker instead of the traditional leaf spring.
