It's possible they didn't have time to map out the warehouse and plan a strategy. Officer were under fire and they needed to be fast. Idk if this is true but that is what someone told me bc I had the same question

SWAT is usually called if the suspects are barricaded and officers deem it too dangerous to go in without proper equipment, unless there are special exceptions like 2 officers taking fire in the building. Everyone else is supposed to secure the perimeter so that they can't escape, unless they want to be sitting ducks. Them being able to leave with no resistance is a failure on all other teams.

Everything is wrong about this... First they wouldn't send SWAT and they would just go in like that, like they act on their own... they would probably make a plan or something, and if they have to go in quickly they wouldn't go in like that... i saw this a lot in this show, this SWAT team kinda operates on their own, they do investigations, they do interrogations, they go to places and they do raids, chases, they solve cases... WTF!! SWAT doesn't work like that. And they are always dressed like that with their guns on ALL the time, even in investigations, is just ridiculous. Second, bad use of the flashlight, ALWAYS on, thats wrong, they would know exactly were you are, if you have to use it, you aim, turn flashlight on, look and then turn it off, continue and so on, not all the time on... Third, NO ONE use AUTOMATIC weapons, NO ONE in the force, you use semi all the time, and in the scene when they arrived they use it in automatic. Fourth, SWAT wouldn't just go running like that chasing the guys in the neighborhood, even climbing to the roofs and fighting people... AND with the flashlights STILL ON, for God sake. Fifth, they woudn't take that shot in the street, the hostages were too close, thats a MASSIVE mistake. i understand this is just fiction, but you can still do fiction and a good show without being so WRONG, is painfull. AWFUL show.
