I am a 21 year old. Until now, I haven't smoked, drank alcohol, or done any other addictive substances. I have a lot of close friends who drink and smoke - during my 4 years of hostel life, 99% of the guys would smoke or drink. But I didn't, because I feel it's not right. I know that if I ever did those things, I would be ashamed of myself, and I don't want that. Let's talk about virginity. I am still a virgin. I think premarital sex is taboo only because of the possible complications in case the relationship does not culminate into marriage..there would be emotional baggage, unplanned pregnancy which can be a pain in later life..its a culturally induced concept in our culture and I think there is no reason to shun it..At the same time, a mature relationship will have its own nuances .but generically normalizing premarital sex can potentially also emcourage promiscuity in young adults..and also accepting something just because its in trend doesnt mean it is right..this is a very sensitive topic because humans are not just sexual beings..our relationships also need emotional intimacy ..
