I'd like to know where that area that they were recording from leads to. And why isn't Mom going after her baby after it squeezes through the bars? I suppose it does say something that Mom isn't too alarmed when the baby is outside and more than her arm's length away. It would be nice to see them in an outdoor open air exhibit instead of just existing in that huge concrete room with nothing to do but sit around being bored and getting fat. That and some enrichment. An orangutan's brain is engaged 24/7, except when they're sleeping of course, and they need to be doing something with all those thoughts, even if it's something silly and meaningless, like playing with a blanket. For that matter, give an orangutan a large canvas or burlap bag and it will amuse itself for hours at a time walking around with the bag over it so all you can see is feet, or tumbling around on the ground in it.

I have seen in other videos by same creator that they have an alternate outdoor enclosure. Perhaps they moved them due to temp changes? The zoo keepers do appear to engage the youngster and his mother in enrichment in other videos as well.
