I was also a catholic growing up and I had a second grade teacher who invited me to Lutheran church. I was nine at that time and thanks to my elementary teacher who is still my friend, I am a Christian. I am also from Mexico city and my mom came here when I was three. My mom remarried and my step dad sexually abuse me but he never went that far. I forgave him. My step dad used to be an alcoholic and due to the foster home system he went to AAA and he has not been drinking since I am 16, I am now 40. I also did not have papers, I was an immigrant. The foster system always protects children and they gave me a social security and a green card and now I am a USA citizen. I told my teacher and friend about it and at age 15 I got put in foster home with my six year old sister. I started doing drugs in high school but god had other plans for me, he put me with christian foster parents and I changed again. I used to be in the same foster home as my sister but as soon as I started doing drugs, I started hanging with the wrong crowd in high school. My friend and I got arrested becasue she was shoplifting. We were minors and they ask me for my address and I remember when they took me in handcuffs and my sister saw, she started to cry. Then my foster mom told me that she was going to keep my sister with her and send me to other foster parents. I only did drugs for one year but not a lot. I have a genetic illness called Hereditary Spastic Paraglegia (SPG6) and I think because of this, this keeps me close to god and not of this world. Amen. I got married in 2020 with a catholic and I started taking him to Sheperd and other christian churches and he got converted into a Christian and he even decided to get baptized at Sheperd. My husband listens to pastor Dudley all the time. God has done so many wonderful things in my life. Even though I started hanging with the wrong crowd and doing drugs in high school I am a successful Senior electrical designer who works full time and goes to school part time for electrical engineering and God has blessed me. He turned my life around. GOD always has a plan for everyone. I am so glad you got to know Jesus. You made me cry.
