Transcript Excerpts:
I think we think that the only way to be emotionally wounded is if somebody outright abused you or hurt you or did something to you, but we're also significantly wounded by not having our needs met, especially as kids growing up and that's something that we definitely need to wrestle with in our lives. And then the other thing is the broken equipment. You know, so many of us have broken equipment, but it often gets blamed as this is just my fallen nature, my sinful nature, I was born this way and thank God that he saved me. And eventually when I die and go to heaven, this will be gone. And I think there's really- - Yeah, it's sort of like if somebody were sick - Yeah, it's sort of like if somebody were sick and they go to the doctor's office and all the doctor can do is “okay, well, stay in the waiting room for 70 years, in 70 years, we'll pull you out and send you to the hospital.” that's not what Jesus taught. He said, the kingdom of heaven is among us.
If you're watching the movie and you hit pause, well, then you see the whole movie, right? But you can also see these frames and these frames are scenes. And that's like our life that if we're going through something, we're in a moment well it’s a much larger movie. God is gonna take us through that, He's gonna heal us. You have a future and a hope. There's things we can learn and we grow but we got to do the right things in that scene. We have to co-write that scene, right? to try to get well.
There's a certain section of the Christian world that Thinks you’re gonna heal all emotional wounds and all problems by what I call the truth model and their mantra and their flag is what? you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free, right? How many times have you heard that? So what do they do? They go off from there into a truth model of trying to heal. So I've memorized scripture. I have my position in Christ and I'm doing all this cognitive stuff, okay? That's not what the passage says. What the passage says is if you hold to my teachings, if you really believe this stuff, if you’rE hearers and doers of my teachings, then you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. In other words, you're gonna be in a discipleship process of doing all of this stuff that he said and being doers of the word, not just hearers of the word or intellectually memorizing it, but we're gonna actually do it. When he says, confess your faults to one another so that you might be healed, that's not a verse you memorize only, you memorize it, and then you sit down and call your buddy and say, "I'm struggling, I gotta confess this," and not legally confess it, but letting you know about it and then they pray for us. And then it gets healed by doing what the New Testament says. So the truth is not something, the Pharisees believed it, they didn't get healed. It's we got to enter into the process, grace and truth and then what happens over time. And there's this whole thread throughout the maturity process in the New Testament that is process oriented. he is perfecting those that he's already been made perfect. Your position is secure, but now you gotta grow into it, okay? 2 Peter 1, if these traits are present in you and increasing over time, all of these process orientations, you mature somebody in time. So we have to be involved in a process over time. And then the other thing is God does do supernatural things. I mean, I've seen people get healed of stuff. Now, that doesn't mean that they didn't need to do the maturity as well, I've seen people get delivered of stuff, but that doesn't mean they don't need to do the sanctification maturity thing as well.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. He is close to the broken hearted. And He heals the broken 💔 hearted. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not unto your own understanding and He will direct your path. Be transformed by renewing the mind. With God all things are possible. Faith makes healing possible 🙏

It does not matter what label we put on our issue, even if it's incurable, God will heal it if we ask Him and believe His promise to heal us as He promises in Psalm 103:3. I used to hate it when people just quote a Bible verse like that will fix my problem. Then I learned that those Bible verses carry life in them to do what they promise if we do our part, which is to ask and believe Him. It may happen immediately, or it may take place over time. Stick with God and trust Him. I know 100%, you will get healed from all the dysfunction.

Things that stood out to me from this podcast are: Addressing brokenness is how we get healed. It involves 3 basic ingredients: grace, truth and time. God will give us grace to heal. The Body of Christ will heal itself (encouragement etc.) through others, but we also need to open up and respond to it. Truth is structure, aligning ourselves with reality. We need to be in an environment that heals. It is not memorizing scripture but holding on to God's teaching. We need to enter it. God does supernatural things but we also need to do things. Thank you, Dr. Cloud!

my word for this year is honesty, for 2024, and intuition and healing!!! I have so much to offer this world, all that is pending is my continual healing and me doing the necessary homework and being on my A game the way I was in the past before I encountered serious trauma , and arise and shine!!! the sky is the limit and also we learn from others, kindness is so relevant and #1 for me and also karma , ty for this amazing share friend, I wish ya the best upcoming week, :) shalom amazing winners, I genuinely believe it all happens for us not to us and we need to catch what the lord wants us to learn in that season, the attitude determines the win all the way,

I also loved in the video when Doctor Henry points us back to the new testament as the ultimate source of healing !!!! amazing amazing amazing, this reminds me of what the world is truthfully missing and the importance of the spiritual / divine component in one's world,

Just a note though...the old Testament is just as relevant as the New Testament. They are interrelated and cannot be separated. They sync and support each other, divinely. Jesus Himself kept confirming the Old Testament as God's Word. In the Old Testament, in the stories of people's lives, we see so many stories related to suffering, and then healing. Adam and Eve, their trespassing into sin, but God gives them hope of an eventual restoration, and that still loves and cares for them. Job, his terrible suffering, the injustice, brokenness, and then restoration. Joseph, his childishness and then trauma due to injustice, betrayal and separation, and then dramatic healing when his brothers re enter his life. His own brothers, their painful guilt, and eventual healing. Jacob, the deceiver, his mighty struggle with himself and with God, and life transformation. And many other life stories.

@ approximately 30:00 and forward says that the three ingredients to healing are: 1) grace, 2) truth, and 3) time that will be applied through our discipleship of applying the word of God by following Jesus towards His perfection into maturity in Him. ❤️🙌

therapy and Christianity has changed my life! and also understanding we are all flawed and learning to be more open minded and forgiving because I am also not perfect, I also learn to lean on the spiritual aspect when I need to which is frequently for guidance provision etc, and when I have a question about something or pertaining to a major life decision, I believe in premarital counseling and also following intuition which is the holy spirit when we are kingdom minded
