Monica interviews an artist who has been part of our global pop music heritage since the 70s...first playing drums on the group M's number one US single 'Pop Muzik', Appearing on TOTPs with Roxy Music and becoming a founding member of the commercial smash that is Level 42, giving us memorable songs such as "Lessons In Love' and 'Something About You', the drumming sensation behind all that music, Phil Gould. Not only an internationally acclaimed drummer, Phil, now a solo artist, is a composer and songwriter. Some 40 years after the release of Level 42's first single, Phil released his own single 'Beautiful Wounds' from the solo album of the same name and his second single 'The Dance' is now released this month. We talk about his long career in music and this hauntingly beautiful new track.

He and Stewart Copeland are the influences that starting my drumming They both played TAMA , which I wanted a TAMA set and the Phil stopped endorsing them. Anyway I think the original level 42 was the best lineup. Would love to see Stewart and Phil do a project together or just hang out.
