I did similar trip last year on my Yamaha Super Tenere. I just bought a BMW S1000xr thinking that I am not going to be able to do adventure trips like that again on the s1000xr, you prove that you can

Great video - the drone really makes it amazing but also liked the shots of suspension working hard on the Dalton. Thanks for posting!

I took off every body panel to wash my bike after my trip to Alaska from Seattle. Wow. Dirty was an understatement

Awsome, I would have never thought of doing that trip on my XR, but it is on my bucket list with the GSA.

Hello from Carson City, Nevada. Awesome vid, love the bike capabilities, but tell me what brand are the ADV panniers? And side rack?

Amazing trip! Excellent footage! Which drone did you use?

What tires did you use? brave man doing 2 up on that. I don't have enough range on my XR to pull that off, so you must have carried fuel can?
@carsmotorbikesmountainbike60695 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeh had a 7.5L rotopax that was just enough to get us there!

Used Continental TKC 80's for the Dalton and Micheling Pilot Road 5's for the rest of the trip 👍

@@carsmotorbikesmountainbike6069 how did you find the tkc's? How is their grip and handling on asphalt in corners?
@carsmotorbikesmountainbike60693 жыл бұрын
@@Jareknphotography TKC's not the greatest on Asphalt felt like I really had to take my time on them. But felt great on everything else we encountered!

Did you run 87 octane fuel or were you able to find 91?

Is your XR the lowered version? Also I noticed that your pillions line of sight seems to be above your helmet. How tall is she? Was she comfortable as a pillion?
@carsmotorbikesmountainbike60694 жыл бұрын
HI, Just standard version. She is 5ft 3, and found it very comfortable but after long 10 hour plus days not so comfy :)

How did xr handled dalton highway? Did you upgrade the suspension
@carsmotorbikesmountainbike60695 жыл бұрын
It handled it well considering being 2 up and with all our luggage! no suspension upgrades, just standard suspension.
@pilyomotoride77815 жыл бұрын
Also wondering how much is the shipping of the bike

Awesome video. I hear the fuel stops are few and far between on the Dalton. Were you carrying extra fuel. My XR gobbles gas! How did the knobby tires work out mileage wise.
@carsmotorbikesmountainbike60695 жыл бұрын
We had a 7.5L rotopax for fuel that was just enough to get us from coldfoot to Prudhoe. Only had the TKC 80's on for the Dalton highway so cant comment on mileage with the tyres, sorry!
