Great tips, thank you! These videos are a bit quiet. It would be great if they were uploaded with a louder mix.

I was listening to this podcast for two reasons. 1. I love the way you present and explain your many tips so concisely, and 2. I'm procrastinating editing a long scene that didn't thrill me. Now I know why -- it didn't add to the story and reducing it to three sentences made all the difference to pacing. Brilliant tips as always. Thanks K.M.!

So true! I cringe at navel gazing internal dialogue so I write as little of it as possible. I would much rather express a characters inner life through dialogue and action

There's also something to be said when it comes to the preferences of the beta reader. I can't stand Tolkien. Not only does his prose come across as unnecessarily verbose, but it also feels condescending. I don't need the genealogy of the tree your main character is reading a book under, UNLESS it is relevant to theme and plot.
