I remember people use to say they weren’t good guitarists. I think vol. 3 was a “shut your mouths” moment for these guys.
@janosszucs7127
@janosszucs7127 Ай бұрын
Vol 3 was the album that started to shut up a lot of people indeed. From the guitarwork, to the songwriting and the lyrics… people were crying that Corey can only scream and use swearing words. In Vol 3 he didn’t use one word of cursing or even the word shit.

@Bat_Dad_116
@Bat_Dad_116 Ай бұрын
@@operatingfromtheditch it definitely did compared to self titled. But that’s also when people saying they were not good guitar players was at its peak. There were still no guitar solo sections or shredding parts. Tight fast amazing rhythm parts just weren’t flashy enough for the guitar gate keepers. Tracks like Opium of the people and Pulse of the Maggots put that to rest.
@operatingfromtheditch
@operatingfromtheditch Ай бұрын
@@Bat_Dad_116 true. just goes to show how ignorant some guitar elitists are, God forbid you can’t shred or play a mind blowing solo, even if you have excellent rhythm work, you’d be dubbed a shitty guitarist. Those idiots🤷‍♂️

Guys the reason why jim is looking at mick very closely at beginning is probably because he is analysing what mick is playing, when jim joined slipknot, he didn't knew much of music theory(i said he didn't knew much) , mick was more knowledgeable on music theory and he was the one who wrote the riffs and stuffs at first, so i think jim is still learning from mick (im not 100 percent sure of this but i just saw this information on the Internet and idk if its tru)
@twiztid133
@twiztid133 Жыл бұрын
Probably true cos jim has said on interviews that he doesn’t know theory. Mick is the far better teacher. If you see some vids of them teaching you can see that jim isn’t really that good at teaching.
