That happened to us too. We were already at the Campground and needed to change sites as we wanted to extend our stay.....we got off our site in time but had to sit in the roadway as the other people took their sweet time in getting away.....over an hour late.

Ah sorry to hear that. We really weren’t sure whether or not to even put that in the video, but we wanted to share what really happens and although it turned out they were nice and just not watching the time, it still messed with our day and was frustrating at the time as every site has clear check in and out times and it forced a conversation we shouldn’t have needed to have. I hope the rest of your trip in that instance went well. If you were extending your stay hopefully that means you were enjoy having fun 🙌🙌🙌. Thanks for the comment and for watching 😀

Back about 60 years ago my dad took me to the wreck of the Ethel, it was definitely in better condition than your visit. It still had ribs and a small amount of planking! Still worth a visit for the history.
@LBWAdventures Жыл бұрын
Oh wow, there definitely wasn’t any sign of planking anymore. Guess time and Mother Nature is still slowly eating away at her. Thanks for the message and for watching along with us 🙌😀

Another great video guys. Always get a bit of a giggle 😊 I asked Google the difference between wharf and jetty since you asked the question I wanted to know myself 😅 Jetties can be built to protect inlet channels from cross currents or storm waves. Wharf: a berthing structure that runs parallel to the shore

Thanks Sharon, we love hearing that the videos are enjoyed 🙌 haha yes funny you mentioned that as after I edited the video I did the same thing… guess our kiwiana /Aussie theory is busted 🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for watching and commenting

Same area and same problem. We arrived to find our pre-booked spot already occupied. Told the bloke and he said he had booked it as well. We reached a conclusion that it had been double booked by the department. I went to the Ranger and we got another site. As we were setting up at that site the 'occupier' came over to offer a profuse apology, showed us his booking slip and he was in the wrong spot. That prebooking system is a total failure instigated by bureaucratic cone heads whose idea of a camping trip is sitting on the bloody loo for over 5 minutes. My hate mail file to sundry state politicians explaining the flaws in this system is not small ... but politicians are so incredibly stupid it sucks the oxygen out of my system.

Oh no :( sounds like they made a mistake, so it was good they let you know once they realised. That’s a good point though, if it happens to us again, which we hope it won’t, we will have to nicely approach to double check booking site numbers to ensure everyone is in the right spots.

Just go over and be polite and nice and say u booked that site then they might move their butts faster , if u park up and say nothing and glare at them then they have no idea their not mind readers , just stupid humans like the rest off us 😊 enjoying a beautiful place
@LBWAdventures Жыл бұрын
Yes we did end up going over to speak to them, and as you said they just weren’t keeping track of time. We didn’t park up and glare at them as we were on the other side of camp waiting. I guess after a long drive when you have a booking you just hope that you can roll in and get on with your day. All these little experiences along that way are lessons learnt. ☺️ Thanks for the comment and for watching
