these animators always cook. everybody's deck represents them in some way like Yuyu being a shy kid that struggles with speaking up for himself in episode one but he becomes more confident throughout the series hence why he uses Trickstar which is a grade 0 unit with various powered up forms. similarly, Mirei wants to unite all vanguard teams under one banner under her to minimize conflict. to do this she believes she should be a strong leader so she uses a deck that revolves around equipping cards to a grade 3 unit to make it powerful instead of relying on rear guard units to much. this allows it to stand above all alone.

cool fact i noticed, all characters that loses in overdress and in v series the 6th damage is always the boss unit meaning the vanguard will stay beside the fighter till the end and here instead of bhavsagara it is trickmoon meaning the same

Ive always seen it as a representation based on what Kai says in the first episode about cards going to the damage zone. Each card is like a unit fleeing your army and it feels more like a complete victory when that last unit is a boss unit or an avatar.

I love Mirei's dub voice, also I still get chills everytime Yuyu's theme (I'm calling it that for now) plays at 12:35 that moment would always be at my Top 5 best Vanguard moments.

So, for the cards it's 3000 years into the future, all clans have united into 5 Nations As for how overDress fits in with the other series.... I don't think it was ever intended to connect Kinda like how, for example, Power Rangers stayed with Zordon forever up until In Space then the very next season it was something else entirely (no Zordon at all)

I have not watched many series other than ones with aichi. Actually I think i only watched one in which aichi goes in hiding to save world. And is saved at end. Is this good? I can't think of watching series in which aichi is there but not as main character. I know it's wrong. Sorry 😞

the season you watched is called legion mate, overdress defenitely doesnt have the main cast from the original series and its very different but i would say give it a shot. I was just like you in the fact i didnt want to watch overdress since it didnt have aichi but i gave it a shot and i found it pretty fun. the first season focuses more on the characters and the second is when the plot starts picking up

Popularity fell off over time. The Buddyfight, OG and G anime were just more popular. The first ep of every season will always be in the mils but the OD anime struggles to maintain any of those views past ep 1 since most people just drop it. if suffers even more

You're all forgetting that Bastion is the most powerful and OP. There is not enough shield printed in the game to block grade 3s boosting buffed grade 3s that all get to restand after Bastion attacks. Not to mention multiple cards drivchecking.
