The S2 and S3 and the R series have transmission control for the GM 4L60E/4L80E and other transmissions which you can find on their website.

id really like to see a 6 cylinder line. the price difference between the 4 and 8 is too much for only needing 2 more cylinders.

Bro the difference is not only 2 cylinders. And also the amount of I/O you'd need for a 6 cylinder and a V8 are very similar. Normally I'd agree with you on this one, but Imma say they did the right thing. The best thing would have been them adding an option for running 6 cylinder on the S2

I have always liked Haltech, but there were some things that were weird to me on the elite series, but I believe there are absolutely no downsides to the S Series. They might actually be perfect ECU's. Question, can we add an external memory card slot for more data logging. I.E. for endurance racing?

running a V8.. roughtly $2000 for an S3 or $2300 for an R3 and get PDU as well.. that's an easy decision.. car's already wired, but guess anything new can go to the PDU or ill slowly move things over or be ready when re-wire time comes.

I am building an RX8 with a LS3. I am looking at getting the S3. My intentions are to hook the unit into the factory CAN bus to retain features (cluster, electric power steering, some ABS) my question is: Can the Haltech use information from the factory CAN bus as inputs? For example the RX8 ABS sensor signals are input to the factory ABS module. Since the Haltech will be on the vehicle CAN bus, can it see the ABS sensor signals allowing me to create a traction control profile?

Yes, all that is supported on the factory CAN for the RX8.

One of the biggest struggles of being a tech guy & a car guy is wanting the latest and greatest. I only bought my Elite 2500 last year, now this is out... and it has wifi! Do you do trade ins? haha Also will this ECU fit with the Haltech elite R34 GTR patch harness? Looks like its the same terminals.

No, the S Series has different connectors and more pins.

@@BNR_248 S3 has 34+34; the Elite has 34+26 (extra pins for the wideband). But you can repin it pretty easily.

The R5 actually has TWO onboard wideband controllers. The R3 has one, if you're looking for something that's basically the S3 + built-in PDU.

With the way the world is going with vehicle emissions and safety, not to mention EVs or boring cars replacing older vehicles so selling for nothing. Would be awesome for this product to be more affordable as the cars that most enthusiasts drive are worth the same or half the cost.

Theres many affordable options out there depending on what you need, a maxxecu mini for 600eur is very competent, or even a ua4c speeduino for alot less. There are options in between aswell
