Comment for the algorithm I guess - Good production but this is too biased to even be loosely considered to be a comparison. Owned many, S2000s are indeed great cars. Yours is an AP2 (~8300 RPM) which has a lower (factory) redline than the AP1 (~9000 RPM), lots of things can be done there but that's for another time, as you also quoted BHP and not WHP. Many people lamented that the AP2 was much softer than the AP1 but that again is preference; Honda did indeed adjust spring rates and made some changes to the dampers but we're at least 15 years past the production of the newest S2000 which leaves things even muddier. Some people cheer on the 'playfulness' of the NDx MX5 relating to the body roll, others end up doing modifications to remove it, again, preference. Sure power figures come into play and all that but I'm sure there isn't a MX5/Miata tax as severe as the S2000 tax. Cockpit arrangement I will admit my bias towards the S2000, but again, some have argued it's too spartan so preference there; With the ND MX5 being a much newer car, some things are (nearly) unavoidable in that regard. Happy motoring.

Agree S2000 transmission is one of the best; prefer it over my 991.2 GT3.
