Been contemplating on upgrading to the S21 ultra, but the upgrades aren't that dramatic. The S-pen + Additional Storage and the beautiful square frame are my deciding factors. I do love the Matte look on the 21 though.

I have both phones too and I've been comparing the 2 all day. The S21 Ultra's display is noticeably narrower and the curved edges makes it even more narrow compared to the N20U. The N20U feels more sleek and lighter for sure. It's all about preference.

Well, I was going to wait for the Note 21, to see if I liked it more than the S21, but I won't wait for than a year. So I'm getting the S21 this year.

I upgraded from galaxy S10 5G to the galaxy S21 plus 5G thinking that the screens were going to be the same exact size since there both 6.7 inches but I was quickly disappointed when I noticed that the S21 plus is much skinnier and felt much smaller in my hands so I have to end up switching again to the note 20 ultra and I am so glad I did.

Finally, a fair comparison! Good work! 👍 There's absolutely no reason to upgrade to the S21U if you have the N20U! Also, if upgrading from an older device, it's a matter of preference in a real-world comparison. But, having said that, there are still significant reasons to go with the Note, not least of which are form factor, housed S-Pen, micro sd, and 25W brick in the box. 👌

It's a no-brainer. The Note 20 Ultra is the clear winner here. You just get more for less. What's better on the S21 Ultra is incremental at best; that's the takeaway here, and the Note 20 Ultra additionally offers traditional extras that were stolen from the S21 line - expandable storage, a charger, and even those cheap ass earbuds. Those "improvements" were very disappointing to see; you're looking at benchmarks that could easily be improved on the Note 20 Ultra with mere firmware updates. Not much has changed with the new CPU, GPU, and overall specs on the S21 Ultra, despite them being improvements. Stick to your Note 20 Ultra if you have that. There's no need to waste your money on an expensive downgrade, but...it's YOUR money. I'm thankfully replacing my S21 Ultra with the Note 20 Ultra. The appearance alone failed to impress me in person, though it did at a distance. The S21 Ultra is bigger and heavier than it looks, and even the build quality sucks. The material around the rear camera is cheap as hell. Let's just say that the paint peeling around the rear camera, FRESH OUT OF THE BOX, isn't a good look for this phone.

I have a sneaking suspicion this is a complete money grab from Samsung but packaged by the 888 hype and a new (uglier) design. Too many corners cut and I agree about the build quality. I played with the black Ultra and it feels cheap as hell! The aluminum sides are more like tin can levels of quality. Do you think those benchmarks are duds because there is NO way that’s all the 888 has to give over the 865+.

I got the S21 when the buds and tag were free so technically I got my S21 much cheaper than the note20 ultra. I would just say. Note users should stick to Note, S21 is not a replacement to the Note Series. The Micro SD is a bummer but now a days phones start at 128gb base. SD cards were a big thing 4 years ago when base models started at 32gb and maxed out at 64 or 128. Usually video developers carry external drives with them all the time. As for a day to day user I have never removed an SD card from my phone once installed. I never found the need to do it because once every year I would connect my phone to the computer and back up everything. I mean in the end it's not about price or which is better. It's about what you prefer. If your a note user you always will be a note user. My first tablet I owned was a samsung tablet with an Spen and since then I can only use a tablet with an spen. Can't see my self using any other kind of tablet.

The point of the video is very valid. However, for US market new buyers with galaxy s9 / note 9 series in hand, buying the S21 ultra is a no Brainer. TMOBILE is offering trading in s9/note9 for 800 USD, that makes the S21 Ultra hell outta a deal. That was exactly why I went for the S21 ultra. If last year Samsung offered the same trade in value toward Note20 Ultra, I would went for the Note20 Ultra already.

The S21 Ultra is my first non-Note device from Samsung in a while. I am not disappointed. Comparing the width is almost negligible. Whoever posted below that the S21's display being noticeably narrower is not using any measurement that I'm aware of to get that. The battery on the S21 is actually noticeably bigger. The screen is beyond fantastic (but then again all Samsung screens are great). The curved edges were a start change for me from my Note, but after a few days, I'm finding that I am preferring it to the boxy, squared shape of the Note line...but this is a personal preference, so your opinion may vary. The speaker is absolutely crazy awesome on the S21. It is so far beyond what I had before (Note 9) that it is almost a joke to compare the two. The speed of the S21 vs my Note 9 is almost absurdly crazy-big. I love almost everything about the S21 Ultra. The fact it can double as a Note itself is brilliant and is what totally sold me on it over waiting for the Note 21 Ultra (which Samsung has now announced will not happen this year but should happen next). I made the right choice. I am perfectly happy.

I really enjoyed this video! I have a suggestion for you to improve your on-screen fingerprint reader comparisons: Test 50% with one hand and then switch devices to the opposite hand and complete the remaining 50% percent of the tests. Most people have a dominant hand, which would increase your likelihood of accurately positioning your finger over the sensor and providing the appropriate amount of pressure. It is more likely that the device in your non-dominant hand will be at a slight disadvantage - considering these factors. I hope this helps and can be implemented in future videos.

The performance is about a 30% improvement, not 5. Which will become more noticeable over time. Its base price is $100 cheaper than the Note, not the other way around. This would cover the cost of the S-pen and case from Samsung for $70. There's more but overall a bit biased review against the S21 Ultra.

Surprised how close they were in performance. Was about to change my S8+ for a S21 Ultra but I do love the look of the Note 20 Ultra compared to the S21 Ultra. Colors: doesn't matter your putting a case on it anyway. No one will know but you. S-Pen support: Both. As far as pen placement, "if you can't slide it hide it." Put it in your pocket. SD Card: Most people will use Google and auto upload anyway. If you need a sd card then you have no other choice then. Corners: Depends on what to you like. PRICE: You have to consider for $1k+ your support will end sooner for the note 20. This is a fantastic review! 💪🏾✌🏾

Have you possibly tried the Space Zoom on both to compare them, I was just curious if one showed more clarity when zooming in on the moon in daytime and at night time? If so, Which performed better? Watched this after the S21 Ultra vs. iPhone 12 Pro Max video. You didn't run the 5G test with each phone individually in that video and neither phone got anywhere near the speeds these phones hit in this video. Might be helpful for folks if you redid that test and dropped the results in the description there. Anyway, great video! It confirmed my suspicions that the Note 20 Ultra might still be the better buy between these two. Considering an upgrade from my Note 10 Plus and this was definitely helpful.

First off I think its totally a very bad move to add a spen to the s series. That a note only accessory. Add it to the fold?eh.maybe but I'm not into the fold or flip at all..the rollable looks interesting though but thats a few more years down the road.. But adding an spen to the s series is ridiculous when they didn't have a place to insert it into the phone..what the hell? So you have to buy a obviously ridiculous looking case to fit the big ugly s series pen? After using the s21 ultra the colors are very washed out on normal mode. I had to use the eyeball searing custom vivid profile to make it look decent. Photos were also too bright on s21. I returned the s21 ultra for the 20 note ultra and can actually use the normal profile. The colors are much better on note.

I don't understand why everyone is comparing this phone to the Note Series. This is a S series. And also not sure why people think the note is cheaper. On samsung website website they are the same price. It's an S series with Spen compatibility. Also I love S21 Ultra design. Not sure why you think it looks outdated or backwards. In my part of the world you get Exynos chip so I would say the new S21 Ultra is better from my perspective. It has a better chip from last year, in battery test the Note 20 was the first to switch off and S21 Ultra the last. Again the camera is more versatile and the screen adaptive refresh rate at the highest resolution is great too. So in all I would say S21 Ultra is better even if you compare Snapdragon 865 to 888. The whole package is better except someone using SD card extensively and if it's a must then note 20 would be better perhaps

When you consider you have to buy the Spen and Case to hold it in and possibly the charging brick and a phone with extra storage as the S21 is minus the SD Card Slot well the S20 probably ends up being a bit more than the Note 20 Ultra's original price of $1300... Seeing that the results difference is not that much between each phone in your tests, I will hold on to my Note 20 Ultra every day of the week ;-) Great Video you helped me decide that i will be keeping ,my Note 20 Ultra and cant wait for the Camera review's Cheers from Down Under, stay safe ;-)

Well thank you soo much for this honnest comparison, i was almost gonna buy the s21 to feel the different between my note 20 ultra SD model, but i knew that the S serie wouldn't beat the flagship position that easy. My biggest hope is that samsung would bring some good updates to the Note serie to keep the honor to be THE flagship. Now for me the design of the Note is way more futuristic than the S serie who looks just like all the other brands and also like some mid class samsung phones. For me il stay a Note fan till the end.but am praying samsung doesn't shame us the Note fans with the S series as both phones has been launched shortly after eachother,and i do still believe that samsung could have used the SD 888 aswell on the note and the better camera setup too,but for some reason they didn't, and thats where i felt cheated spending more money and getting less just in short time between them. the only issue I have with my note 10 plus is the slow fingerprint sensor and the fact that all three of the cameras aren't calibrated to have the same temperature/hues. I use an S pen from the Tab S6 too as the one that comes with a note 10 plus is too small/thin/bad button placement for me.

I prefer the boxed Note display too. If you compare then both side by side while watching the same video, the curved edges on S21U's display cuts off some of the video compared to the Note 20 Ultras

@@vitalis Yeah but Note 8 can only use Dolby atmos with headphones. My note 10+ can use Dolby atmos without headphones and with as well. My dad literally complains about how loud my phone is lol

Hmm note 10+ speakers don't quite match the S21 Ultras in my opinion. The volume differential of the screen speaker to the bottom firing one make it sound too off, not to mention its far lower quality. S21 Ultra is better in that regard.

How can it be hundreds of dollars if Samsung was offering $700 with a trade in plus $250 in offers. I got the S21, new Galaxy Buds Pro, Case with S pen, super fast charger and a free tile for $300 . Upgrading was a no Brainer

For me personally, as a long term Note user, even trading my older Note 10 for an S21 Ultra would feel like a step back. Note 20 Ultra would be the only option at the Moment. But for me a Note needs to be black (^^), sorry. Furthermore I don't care about the better selfie cam on the S21 Ultra, I don't take many selfies, I do a lot of Notes on pictures and in general for work.

This is a real unbiased review... the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has a s pen (excellent for biz), SD card slot, headphones, charger and almost the same camera features and better 5G speed... besides the Note 20 Ultra is $300 cheaper

I had like $370 in Amazon gift cards from my travel rewards card 💳. And I was going to go with the S21 but since it doesn’t have a microSD slot I would have to go with the 256 GB which was $1149 on amazon. Then the 25w brick would be another $30 plus the pen+case combo another $50. For $949 I got the 128 go note 20 with S pen already in the phone, the 25w brick included, and I slipped in my 256 gb microSD card.

Samsung should be ashamed of themselves ripping off customers with these useless offerings. No MST on Samsung Pay in the United States, No sdcard support on no S21 models, No charger, No headphones, poor 1080p displays on the S21 and S21Plus, poor unboxing experience (NOSALE) I look forward to extremely poor sales on S21 models which Samsung deserves this isn't 2015 when they did the same sdcard bullshit to the Note5 and S6EdgePlus. Poor sales means they won't fuck with the Note21Ultra or Fold3 come September.

The S20 FE was a Hail Mary attempt at sales and it worked. So they tried the same shit here and they cut too many corners IMO. S21 Ultra starts at 1798$. Note 20 Ultra starts at 1698$. Singapore latest price. There is no value in any of this. All Samsung prices are overpriced.
