On the S23 Ultra, if you turn on 'Eye Comfort Shield', turn off 'Enhanced Comfort' and move the 'Colour Temperature' slider all the way to the left the overall vividness of the S23 Ultra increases a bit for some reason. Now it matches the max vivid setting on the S24 Ultra. I've personally noticed that blues, reds and greens pop more with this setup on the S23 Ultra by comparing befores and afters on several wallpapers and UI colours. Try it.

I wonder if that feature is part of one ui 6.1 because if it is the s23 should have that slider mode as well

That'd be really nice - let's hope so!

Thanks for this! Do you think the grain and banding issue people are having on the s24 series is bad enough to not buy it? is this a hardware issue (permanent) or can it be fixed with a software update like the way they fixed the vividness now.
@AndroidAddicts10 ай бұрын
I haven't noticed anything on mine yet but I haven't really gotten into looking at it properly as I've been so busy. It's definitely something I want to check out though as I did read a lot of people complaining about it. Whether it's hardware or software is another question - hopefully just software or it might make people skip the S24 and stick with their S23 or wait for the S25...

If you like "natural", why not just use the Natural mode then? That drops the DCI-P3 colour coverage, so what's the issue?

Question; what purpose does the 22 series serve here if you simply didn't bother comparing it to the 24s? Everyone's already aware that the everything below the s23 had more vivid colours than the s23 (I think to the s20, then it gets even more vivid by another step), I'm sure most would be more interested in s22 or s21 or s20 vs the s24swith this update, since it's pretty clear that it gets more vivid than the s23s at max vividness, no? It was mildly infuriating, so I've just gotta ask. Videos simply don't do these justice properly, especially at different brightness lvls, so we really would expect your own commentary on that.

Happy to do another one with more focus on the S22s. What else would you find useful in the video? I'm open to suggestions as I'm no expert when it comes to screens. I did order a luxmeter which is arriving next week so I can try and get the screens the same brightness in tests at least.
