The best reviews out there!! 💪🏻 Btw, the light sensor of the iPhone is right next to the notch and not on it precisely this is why you had hard time boosting the brightness with the light on it haha

I find that the S24 Ultra performs better when you remove the annoying restrictions it has. There's an option under thermal control to prevent the screen from dimming when it reaches certain temperatures, and it really helps to reduce the screen dimming too quickly.

there is difference in brightness like s24u max brightness in small window is 2600nits, pixel 9 pro xl is 3000nits, iphone 15 peo max is 2000nits. the hdr and outdoor brightness would like s24u has 1750nits, pixel 9 pro xl has 1800nits, iphone 15 pro max has 1600nits. there is also difference in the display model they are using, like s24u using m13, iphone using same i think because i cannot find which display it's using on web, pixel is using newer m14 which is more efficient and brighter than other two
@vishnushaji1168
@vishnushaji1168 18 күн бұрын
also the test is for how much these devices gets bright like phones don't usually get the advertised brightness like 2000 or 3000 nits and their hdr brightness is also different so the test is for howe you will see the brightness numbers the display in certain situations and the temperature it gets and the display gets dim very quickly or not. the iphone actually shown to hit 2000nits unlike any other android smartphones with high brightness claims but it gets dim very quick in outdoor and certain time of gaming or heavy usage sections. s24u never shown get even 2000nits but it will look brightest as it has anti glare tech. pixel is not exactly gets 3000nits but in outdoor some testing shows it hitting nearly 2000nits like iphone and unlike iphone it doesn't get dim as quickly.

So asked gpt. A temperature of 38°C (100.4°F) is generally considered acceptable for most OLED displays, but it’s approaching the upper range of what's ideal. OLED displays can handle temperatures up to around 40-50°C (104-122°F) safely, depending on the specific model and manufacturer. Prolonged exposure to higher temperatures, especially above 50°C, can potentially degrade the organic materials in the display over time, leading to issues like burn-in, color degradation, and reduced lifespan. To ensure the longevity of your OLED display, it’s best to keep it in an environment below 35-40°C when possible. If you're frequently operating near or above this, consider improving airflow or cooling to prevent long-term damage.

I came across some information a couple of years ago that suggested Apple intentionally increases the brightness slowly when exposed to light as a precaution for people with sensitive eyes. I'm not sure how true this is, but it sounds like something Apple would do. I want to address a couple of myths here: 1. In every test I've seen, the iPhone has the coolest temperatures, despite the anti-Apple sentiment that sometimes appears on social media and KZbin. 2. The claim that the iPhone dims quickly seems more like a flex than reality, with the S24U being the only one to dim here. For my personal use, I used to use my S24U as a satnav in the car, and it would get warm and dim in early summer. So I switched to my Pixel 8 Pro, which performed better in that regard. As a side note, I always wonder if Samsung gives the full monty on launch to achieve great reviews and then silently addresses the issues that may affect long-term durability. For example, reduce the peak brightness quicker so as to control heat. or is it just buggy upgrades that also translate to up and down battery life?

I did something similar last year when looking for a new phone. S24U, Pixel 8P, OnePlus 12, and still my current daily iP14 PM. Surprisingly the iP14PM was on par with S24U (outside on a very bright day) even with it being 2 years old now. Pixel was bright but I had returned it before comparing with the others. OnePlus was a hoax, in direct sunlight it fell far behind the Samsung and iPhone. Not sure if auto brightness worked at all. Kept the iPhone, returned the others because I did like Stock Android but the P8P had bad battery and would get hot while charging. The new Pixel lineup seems to have ironed out those issues, so I'm upgrading to the new Pixel Fold. iPhone is getting boring lol

The reason why S24 Ultra get dimmer after time. It's because Samsung decide to use stronger "burn in" protection of this OLED screen. There is One Positive and one Negative. 1. Positive is OLED will last much longer without "burn in". 2. Negative is long usage cause dimming of the screen. If You plan to keep Your Phone for 5+ years.. it will have matter.

the OLED is not a simple case of Apple just "ordering" the best components from display vendors. Some may believe that each phone with similar hardware would be super comparable, which is not the case here. Apple develops its display driver IC completely in-house, with design elements not found on other flagship phones. One such example is its pixel structure. Since the iPhone X, the company has made use of much larger blue subpixels for its OLED compared to other phones. This theoretically leads to slower panel aging by reducing the rate of decay for the blue emitter, which has the quickest lifespan. Apple's red and green subpixels are also marginally larger, filling up more of the total area of the OLED panel. Compared to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra OLED, the relative emissive area of the iPhone 14 Pro Max is about 40% larger.

Iphones work as a charm. Never once had problem with my 14 PM (both when it comes to brightness and speed of adjustment). Combine it with true tone/night shift and it doesn't get much better. PS I thought rear cameras/Lidar also have their part in brightness adjusting.

Pixel and Samsung are equally good to me , it's about personal preference Samsung for battery longevity and pixel for more brightness, iPhone just inferior here only because of the reflections as far as I can see here. But the thing is google may make the pixel dim faster after some updates just like Samsung did on s24u, at launch s24u didn't dim as fast as it does now but they changed it in an update probably to improve thermals and im all for it tbh because I plan on keeping s24u until it doesn't work anymore. And it's still better than iPhone so I guess it's the middle ground solution. Oh nevermind , s24u dims the most 5:23
