I love it! I like to think that creating lifelong friendships with locals is the ultimate achievement, but the reality is probably that you're more likely to connect with fellow travellers - in my limited experience anyway. It's hard to grok someone when they are stationary, and you are transient.
@WeWillNomad5 ай бұрын
Thanks Cyril. 😊We would have stopped uploading videos to KZbin a long time ago if it was not one of the primary triggers for meeting people on the road. As you expect, generally, people who reaches out either want to or already do travel themselves. It's actually quite hard to connect with true 'locals' but if you put in some effort, it's possible. Language is the ever-challenging barrier in most of Europe though. If you can make that first connection people are super welcoming and engaging.

People often say that Denmark is expensive, but in Denmark the VAT sales tax is always included in the price in advance and there are also no unpleasant service charge surprise, because we do not have such a thing, just like no tip is expected. So the listed price you see, is also the price you end up paying. The VAT sales tax in Denmark is 25%, and this is how Denmark is able to tax tourists, because Denmark is kept very clean, spend much on infrastructure and is kind of a picturesque "theme-park" country, that offer everything you may desire. Some expensive, but also some for free, so that it in the end it will all add up, if you know where to look and where to go.
@WeWillNomad5 ай бұрын
Absolutely. It's all relative after all. We're from South Africa and in comparison we're in complete awe what incredible public facilities are available in countries like Denmark. At least you can see where your taxes are going.
@Hansen7105 ай бұрын
@@WeWillNomad but you still save 25% on the food if you shop on the other side of the border in germany.. a camping trip can be alot cheaper in scandinavia if you stock up in germany same with the RV´s when people rent them. just dont use the bordershops use the real supermarkeds many people that live in in jylland often go shopping in germany people even cross the brigde and pay road toll to do it from sjælland the prices gets higher the more north you go in scandinavia alot more then 25% to save if you are going there dont look at the hours of sun, look at the hours of rain 😂i looked today and it said we had 1.5 hours sun when we had something like 10 min in reality our weather reporters are not usefull, they just said we would have a 100 year event the other day with alot of rain. it never came, no one trust them we just got nominated for the most wet area where i live 😔

There is no but. It is expensive here. And our purchasing power is weaker than say an American with similar pay, even if you consider health insurance college funds and that stuff.
@agffans57253 ай бұрын
@@tobimobiv1 Not quite true, the purchasing power is all about what you have left to spend after taxes and the price level of goods you are ably to buy, but do not include the value of health insurance or college funds, which not only count as a 0 in Denmark, but you actually get paid up to around $850 a month to go to university college. So it's not as simple a calculation as that, because in the USA you can do "Russian roulette" and skip health insurance all together. In fact, Americans on average spend around twice as much on health care than we do in Denmark, even including the Americans who have no, or little to no insurance. People with money to spend - AND influencers or KZbinrs tend to fluctuate towards luxury brands or "craft" brands which are insanely expensive in Denmark only because we do not have an army of working poor to serve the rich. Most Danes in their daily lives buy most of their groceries at reasonable prices - and find that bread from Lidl is just as good as bread prepared by 12 virgins in a specialty bakery which costs 2-3 times as much.
