OwO it's VTuber time! This week we grab out pet aligators and wrap them in a trench coat to investigate the wild world of Holocure - Save the Fans! We're talking jazzy beats, explosions of color, shrimp simps, skeletons with baseball bats, and (you guessed it!) six-legged monsterific horrors that would be well at home in any HR Geiger film. To navigate this deep sector of internet a-pog-rypha, we're joined by VTuber and friend of the show Daniru17! We'll need all the help we can get unraveling the mysteries of the Shubangelion and where exactly that character upgrade tab in the shop is.

Noooo..." ** One of you mentioned endgame, and what do you do when you've been playing a long time. For me, now that I've unlocked all characters and outfits, what I've been doing is going through each level with each of the characters -- all four normal levels, and then all three hard modes. Doing that will also clear all the character-specific achievements as a bonus. After that, I'll probably try to get the last few achievements I'm missing, like going through a level without getting hit by projectiles (which sounds rough lol)

Don't forget that there are character-map specific leaderboards, so if you just want a reason to play the game, then that's a small satisfaction. It reminds me of how I use to play a rhythm game called Audiosurf where you could hold a leaderboard position for songs you specifically upload, and I used to play this one super-niche breakcore song that I enjoy, and hold it down as #1 for a year or two. You could be a Gawr Gura on Stage 1 leader, if you want. It's a nearly worthless thing, but life is about what YOU find good for YOURSELF. It's interesting that the game allows you to do so.

43:16 Probably won't have a "proper" money sink until the casino. You can sink 'em into gacha to flex character levels (like that guy with 100k Suisei) but uh... There does exist a gacha with abysmal rates for only the most obsessed completionists/collectors/gamblers?: 1) finding workers with max money-making base stats (50 Level cap, 85 Stam, and 10 Efficiency) 2) finding workers with max Exp Rate (1.5x) 3) finding THE absolute perfect worker that has all stats maxed

One of my favorite things about Holocure is how it draws in people who know nothing about the lore of Hololive - both of the characters as well as the company itself in a meta sense - and a flock of fans who are more than happy to fill them in. Seeing people become increasingly baffled the deeper they fall into this rabbit hole is a thoroughly enjoyable experience, particularly with those who are willing to ask plenty of questions. And for most questions, there’s almost always at least one clip or video essay detailing the character, reference, or inside joke at length.

Hololive actually offered to negotiate a contract to allow Kay Yu monetize Holocure. He turned them down. He wants it to be free.

Wild! I wonder if he'll put up a donation DLC like how the developer of Disfigure has theirs... Though maybe it's a good thing to be motivated by the passion for the project instead of the profit motive.

So, for game music I recommend the Drakengard soundtrack. Specifically anything from the back half of the stage listings, but it's all good as the soundtrack to a fantasy apocalypse.

Was fun to listen to on the train, nice to hear about the various views from those more outside the vtuber sphere. For some soundtrack recommendations, I would like to put forth some of Project Moon’s games, specifically Library of Ruina and Limbus company! Will be tuning into more episodes in the future!

"Does free make it better?" No... but yes. Free games being free only matters if you want to play the game. Epic, for example, offers free games every week; but even if you are getting a $30, $50, or even a higher value then that game, this doesn't matter if you don't have an interest in playing it. If you do have an interest in a free game like this, then that helps a lot in playing it; or just trying it out. Looking at the inverse, an overpriced game should hurt it. Even if the game has something going for it, the price tag has to really justify the purchase.
