This Episode takes me back to Noah's Arc the gay series where Ricky was dating Genito and the entire episode or 2 was dedicated to this topic.I feel that people should equipped themselves with knowledge before passing judgment.

Good conversation. Having worked ( social worker) in the field of HIV in the early years and living through all the changes in HIV care since the beginning, much of what was said about our social and cultural needs has sadly been being said for a long time. Still we have to continue to say it because humans still want to segregate positive people to remain ignorant and feel safe; even some in our own community. Thank you to all the young folks who have taken up the task of fighting for the rights and teaching empathy and acceptance of HIV+ people. You all lift my tired spirit.

I wonder that this conversation would sound like had Obio been interviewed about being negative. I say this because I believe that we actively avoid talking about being HIV negative. I believe this suggests a couple of things: We don’t need to talk about being HIV negative Remaining negative is easy Negative men/people don’t have a relationship to/with HIV because they are negative Negative men/people have sex lives they enjoy Negative men/people have nothing to worry about because they are not positive Negative men/people are consistent in their sexual behavior and this is why/how they remain negative Negative men/partners in sero-discordant relationships need to be silent about their experience in those relationships

Also, if you’re undetectable you don’t owe anybody your information. If you can’t pass the virus to them then it’s not their business

I dated somebody who was HIV + for 6 months but he wasn’t right mentally for himself or taking care of himself not saying he was a bad person he was college educated and very smart but he wasn’t using that as he’s advantage he had bipolar manic depression and he was dealing with coke he’s copping mechanisms was horrible and he wasn’t ready to grow it was depleting me energy and to much to bear so I had to let him go

DEAR OBIO: PERHAPS unlike all of your previous posts, this one especially needs an immediate and much more nuanced update; otherwise the safe space may be in jeopardy. Every sentient human being deserve pleasure, but never at the risk of another human beings right to live w/o HIV/AIDS, monkey pox, any other STD, and or COVID-19. SILENCE (not limited to but always including too many soothing and reassuring words from sincere and well-meaning(?) thirsty(?) advocates) = DEATH.

I don’t agree that “deserve” is a word that should be used in reference to anyone getting sexual pleasure. To say that I “deserve” pleasure is misplaced.

I’ll be honest…In the end I have always just been about wearing a condom. Can’t be convinced as a single man to not do anything other than to take care and protect my body. I have had sex with guys that are HIV+, as the connection has been there. I use to go into every encounter as protecting myself. There is to much information out there for people to still have hang-ups.

@xamanbro8262 жыл бұрын
People with HIV deserve pleasure? Ok, but people should always protect themselves! Condoms exist for a reason. If you want to play without protection, expect for your risk of infection to increase. And don’t expect HIV negative men to want you.
@freddieeskridge6552 жыл бұрын
Comments like this always confuse me. The point of using protection is to not catch an STI/Pregnancy. If you're attracted to man who is + and you are going to use protection...then why exclude him? Unless his + status makes him unattractive, in which case you would be judgmental.
