Really must go back sometime e. Y last (and only) trip north of the border was back 8n 2004, when I flew [yes should’ve got the train] to Glasglow Airport from Bristol Airport and then purchased a Freedom of Scotland (?) travel pass with a railcard discount; think I was on the tail end of a YPRC ownership.the pass allowed free off peak rail travel throughout Scotland and south across the border into northern England, free travel on Scottish CityLink coach services, and ferries to the islands. It also gave a discount on the Caledonian sleepers. I forget how much I paid for it at the time, but I did notice a price hike after First Group took over ScotRail

you did that really well. I'm impressed. I have been to Scotland over 50 times and have many train vids on my channel. I have friends of over 60 years living in Dumbarton where your train stopped. That line is so beautiful that i see no point in going elswhere. thanks for sharing

Nice one Andy and Team. Very much on our agenda for 2020. (Gorton Station just south of Corrour, UK's most remote Abandoned Station?).

Lovely video of my local line, however at the point where you stated that you were above Faslane naval base, you were actually running alongside Loch Long, near Arrochar. Faslane is 15 miles down the road on the Gareloch.

Andy, I didn't find anything wrong with your pronunciation of the station names. Callander is Callander though, not Calendar. (6'17-6'25)

Worked the lines in the 80s & 90s fond memories. Even better value for local rail & subway in a smaller area in Glasgow is the Roundabout ticket. If you like walking take the train to either Gourock or Greenock walk to the Lyle Hill the views are spectacular, from the opposite side of the clyde looking north. An even bigger challenge is to walk the Greenock Aqueduct ,www.theguardian.com/travel/2012/may/12/greenock-cut-inverclyde-walk, breathtaking views,

It might be a beautiful line, but not the most beautiful in the world. For some really spectacular scenery you need to travel to Switzerland.

Gill Chatfield But such a good view of the six of clubs. I have never seen that on a train video.
@eddherring49725 жыл бұрын
Obviously a beautiful line but zero out of 10 for research, suggest you watch the last episode of All The Station’s Ireland. To be honest there are probably even more scenic railway lines than that even so claiming as you have for the West Highland line is the basis of my comment on research.
