There's a strategy that i like to use in this game. At the beginning of where the enemies come from, put flamethrowers or fire towers there, and the cooling and other towers at the center. When they pass the flamethrowers, they will still have the fire effect so they are taking damage as they travel through the map. Once they reach the center to where the other turrets are, they are easy to kill. So you don't have to disregard the fire turrets/flamethrowers entirely. NOTE: However, you do have to make sure they are very far away from the cooling turrets (it's dependent on the level you are playing in) and you can optionally put a few other towers in (not the cooling ones!) between to take maximum advantage of this.

"optimal target" takes the target closest to the current direction the tower is pointing, acknowledging that towers take a finite time to swivel around to a target. It's why lightning towers never use that setting by default because the lightning can instantly go in any new direction.

I've completed all maps on easy. And i did it by using only 3 weapons. The liquid nitrogen, the howitzer and the missile battery. Dont bother using other weapons, they are useless. Although you can use the lightning very early, and then sell it later because its useless after 7 or 8 waves. Equip a lot of liquid nitrogen and howitzers, they are useful in dealing with the tanks, which is the hard part of the wave attacks, especially in the hard maps. Always upgrade them every time. A fully upgraded liquid nitrogen really helps a lot. Also click both weapons as closest to exit. Missile battery deals with the airborne, so put at least 4 each, close to where the planes are coming from. Also tick that box next to the hellfire.

You don't have to do the thing where you quit and go back into the game at start of wave. You can just click "load game" and go back to whichever wave you want.

i havent made any videos for it, because the levels take so long. generally to beat a level i would play it over several days, and can take between like 3 and 15 hours game time

Under options, does "Closest to Exit" mean it'll set all towers to act that way by default ?

There's a couple of times all towers simultaneously executed Hellfires. I dont know how I did it but it's so powerful and a game changer.

@@jonathanwishart9104 It changes what gets hidden when you hide your weapons. You have three option combinations as to what you want to hide. Select a different box in the settings then go back to the main screen and hide your weapons. Each box in the menu screen changes what gets hidden when you hide your weapons on the main screen.

Good job. On the tower's dashboard, there's a red line that says "40%". What does that mean?

That is pointing out how far through the upgrade process it is. I didnt think to mention it because it doesnt seem to be of any use. Since all towers update times go 6 seconds, 12, 24, 48, 96 ive found that its either that or the cost of their next upgrade that is telling me what level they are on

In early/mid game should one focus on adding more towers or upgrading existing ones? (Quantity or quality). Also, should we ever change a turret's targeting to something other than 'optimal'? Thanks for such great tips, and your video was very succinct and well presented.

If you are afloat i would say upgrade what you have. Its harder to upgrade (because it costs more) so whenever you can upgrade - opt to upgrade. If you are struggling to past a section thats where you want to consider adding more. For Optimal - I have found sometimes you might put a tower up as your last line of defense - i have found sometimes they wont consider the optimal guy the guy that is about to leave the map. So “closest to exit” can definitely have it perks

Closest to exit is a good default and the settings allow you to change this to become the default. But there are good reasons to change it as situations require. you may find you need to change the air vs ground vs ship priority more often

great video; learned a lot of great tips for this DZ3 which is quite different from DZ2; for anti-air: try using a side-by-side combo of laser (set to weak target) and rocket (set to powerful target); I've found this works really well on DZ2 but haven't yet tried it in DZ3

the biggest issues i found with the lazers in DZ3 was that if something is moving quickly across the face of them they can't keep up. like their lazer will just be in persuit of the guy rather than doing them any damage.

Logic is not a big part of this game, haha. When i played levels where you have some enemies coming from entry A and leaving in entry B, and other enemies coming from Entry B and leaving in entry A i would think "what am i defending?"

How do you get 30 health? Every level I start, I start with 20 😡 This is one of the most infuriating game ever devised. Going along managing my towers, then a wave comes through and it just steam rolls me 😡

The handy thing i learnt since making this video is you can go into the menu mid game and opt to go back to any previous wave youve already passed. So if youre on wave 6 and get smashed by flying guys. You could so “go back to where i was in wave 4” so youve got time to save money and prepare for that flying wave
