Hey guys. Galactic Cowboys played the Wonderland Ballroom in Elgin, IL back on November 23, 1996. It was in support of the Machine Fish album. I was at this concert and was able to get on of Monty's picks he threw out into the crowd. When the encore ended, Monty jumped off stage and gave me a big sweaty concert hug. This is one of my favorite memories.

Once again, Area 312 delivers! Wow, what a treat this interview was! Monty Colvin is my favourite bass guitar player of all time! Thanks to the 1993 Heaven’s Metal issue #42 feature article I discovered Galactic Cowboys and purchased Space In Your Face. That started my decades long obsession with this band and ultimately a friendship with Monty stemming back to the mid ‘90’s. Monty, your awesome song writing and use of 4, 8, and 12 string distorted basses has been a constant source of enjoyment for me as a fellow bassist. Thank you for sharing your creative and exciting talents with the world through music, lyrics and art. I consider myself very fortunate to have seen three GC concerts, and a Crunchy show over the years, and to have owned two of your basses and several paintings. Thank you!! “Pump up the Space Suit!” Signed, Evil Twin

Wow, this was probably one of the best Monty Colvin interviews I've seen in years. Great job Area 312. Also you mentioned wanting to hear those Japanese bonus tracks. I have those posted on youtube along with some other GC rarities. Thanks again for this great interview!

Great interview Kent and Kevin. Monty, I've been through a divorce as well. It was a low point in my life. God provided what I needed at that time, and there were some Christian people that were such a support for me. Monty, never give up on God. He will always be there!!

Great interview fellas! I also saw GC with KX in Dallas...92... shook my world and damaged my hearing...Love their music and their sense of humor. Monty's candor and willingness to share the good and the bad were refreshing and touching. Monty Colvin crushing skulls and touching lives😂. Thanks for another excellent show! May God bless and sustain you.

Thank you for watching and commenting, Jack. We are appreciative! Yes, that '92 tour with GC and KX was mind blowing for me. As I mentioned in the interview, it was like seeing The Beatles with The Stones to this then twenty-one-year-old! It was certainly a privilege to speak with Monty, and I do appreciate his honesty. Wishing you The Lord's blessings, Jack! -Kent

The only time I ever played truant from school was in 1997, I went to a record store and bought Machine Fish because I thought they were a christian band. Introduced it to all my friends who loved it. Now I consider that day a day well spent.

✨Another great interview guys! Monty is a great artist! I would love to get the first 2 GC albums remastered for vinyl. SIYF is my favorite album. A hidden gems album is music to these ears…At The End Of The Day, this needs to happen!✨

Machine Fish is one of my all time favorite albums. A band I was tried to do covers off that album. Trying to capture the harmonies was almost impossible for four guys in a basement but we tried it anyway.

So many good things to mention. 1st off, l like the improved graphics added to the video - it looks good! 2nd, really enjoyed this interview. Monty is a cool dude. Really appreciated his humility and honesty, especially when he shared where he stood in his life. That was refreshing to hear and see someone be willing to answer that question. He's a guy of many talents. Like you said, I'm thankful that he gets to share his talents with all of us. I like the idea of a hidden gems EP or LP. So much good music. I also agree that the 1st two albums definitely need to be re-released properly, CD and vinyl. I hope Galactic Cowboys can find the right deal/opportunity to make another album. That would be wonderful. Kent, you always do a great job the interview, asking some questions that sometimes don't get asked. It was great to see Kevin as well - always appreciate his knowledge of the music scene. Pray that Rex feels better. We miss seeing him. Finally, thanks for sharing that scripture in Revelation - it's just what I needed to hear. God bless you guys and I look forward to the next interview 🤘

Thank you for watching, commenting and for the kind words, Angel. Please know how genuinely grateful we are! Rex is feeling much better, and we have pre-recorded some more interviews since Monty's episode has aired. Thank you for thinking about Rex. Indeed: Here's to hoping for that "Hidden Gems & Foreign Objects" album which was discussed! I don't think Galactic Cowboys have ever released a "bad" song, and it would be neat to have all of those "loose end" songs compiled on one great release! I also hope an astute record label will pick up Galactic Cowboys to their roster as the band is nothing short of top-shelf and dynamic. Lastly, yes: I appreciate Monty's honesty. I "love" Monty's heart, and he is such a nice and talented person. We always welcome and appreciate honesty here, and we simply hope that our guests remember how much they are appreciated by their friends/fans and how much they are loved by The Lord. Wishing you The Lord's continued blessings, Angel! -Kent

Agreed their last cd wasn’t promoted very well, listen to Spotify a lot and a GC song comes on I’ve never heard, quick internet search and I find out they have a new cd. This was about 2 months after it was released. I happily bought it, listen to it often.

I agree, Bradley. I learned from a friend about their 2017 album being released. He exclaimed how excited he was about the Galactic Cowboys getting back together and I said, "What are you talking about?" While I'm certainly glad for the band and the last album, I can only hope for more. Thank you for watching and commenting. -Kent
